*Raven's P.O.V*
I poured out the story to Gruff as he held a cold ice pack to his poor throbbing head.
"Ow," he groaned. "Could you rub my head?"
"How about no, you perv?" I shot at him. "Well, what do you think we should do?"
"I'm sorry-do what?"
I stared at him blankly.
"Did you not just hear what I said? Or were your ears affected in the dryer too?"
Gruff ignored the harshness of my tone. "Can you repeat the whole story again? I wasn't paying attention." He confessed.
"Figures," I snorted. "Another thing you suck at. Good listening skills when the world is on the verge of doom."
So I began telling him the tale again.
Gruff's eyes lightened. "So all we gotta do is protect the ring and then throw the stupid thing away in the Scarlet Valley Volcano on New Years. Sounds easy."
"Don't jinx it." I sighed. "And we gotta make a trip to the hospital to get it, since some moron thought it would be a good idea to leave it there."
"I didn't do it on purpose," Gruff said, defensively.
"I'd argue otherwise." I rolled my eyes, and went to grab my coat. "Come on idiot, let's go!"
"I'm driving?"
"No, I am. I'll be ripping through the roads, though." I told him, coldly. "You just sit there looking like a sick patient who I'm taking to the hospital for treatment in case the police pull us over."
Gruff nodded clearly too dazed from riding the dryer, to provide a witty comeback.

As we pulled up to the hospital, I noticed there was a bulldozer next to it, as well as caution tapes all over the front.
"What the fuck is going on?!" I shrieked.
Gruff sat in his seat, singing poorly to an Ice Nine Kills song.
I bolted out of my seat, and towards the front of the hospital. As I was about to rip the caution tapes to get through, an officer grabbed my arm. Roughly.
"Stop! What do you think you're doing ma'am?" The officer hissed. His grip on my arm tightened.
Rest assured, he may be strong. But I'm stronger.
I yanked my arm out of the officer's grip, much to his surprise.
He was momentarily caught off guard, as I demanded to know what was going on. "Why can't anyone enter the hospital?"
"Ma'am, there's been a gas leak in the hospital. All patients have been evacuated to the nearest hospital. This hospital will be bulldozed in a few days because the air has become too toxic. In fact, the hospital that they've been moved to has already put in plans of expanding their space, to accommodate a wider array of patients." The officer droned on and on.
"But-But there's something precious of mine in there!" I replied, frantically.
The officer narrowed his eyes. "Is it a person?"
"Well, no, it's an object—"
"Then you can say goodbye to it. It's probably infected by the poisonous gas." The officer explained as I began feeling faint.
"You have to let me in!" I begged. "Pleeeeeeeeeeeease!"
"NO!" The officer yelled. "GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE BEFORE I DRAG YOUR SORRY ASS TO MY CRUISER AND HAVE YOU DEPORTED TO JAIL!!!"
