Elliot stayed behind at the detective's office as I got into Jamie's sleek black vehicle. He was already in the front seat. Wow, what a gentleman, holding the door open for me. NOT.

The windows on the sides were tinted all black. As I sat in the passenger's seat, I stared out the front window, the only transparent thing in this whole damn car.

"Did you really have to paint your windows black?" I said, irritated.

"It makes it easier to torture criminals without passerby coming by, taking pics and reporting it to the police. Don't wanna be fired. But you're right, I didn't need to waste my money painting them black because of the bystander effect. People can be so cruel and uncaring sometimes," Jamie winked as he revved up the engine. "Hold on tight doll."

I rolled my eyes. I had my seat belt on. I was going to be fine. No need to worry. I relaxed my head back. As I did, Jamie jerked the car with such force right out of the parking lot. I jolted forward, my seat belt taking the breath out of me.

"Can you drive slower?" I snapped.

"Shorty, are you paying me?" he questioned.

"No." I was too tired to argue about being called shorty.

"Then shut up. We drive the way I want."

"One of these days, your car's going to end up in a ditch and you're going to burn to death in it due to reckless driving," I whispered to myself but Jamie heard.

In response, he sped up even faster. Jerk. I dug my nails into the sides of my seat. I don't mind going fast but he was going out of control. And to make matters worse, he went to the left and right side of the road, swerving many times and irritating many people.

Jamie rolled down his window and yelled at an angry car he almost crashed into. "Buddy, I could have you jailed just for breathing air."

"That's an abuse of police power!" the man yelled back. The kids in the back of his car began crying. "Daddy, is the policeman going to arrest you?"

"Don't worry, kids, if anything, he's the one who'll end up behind bars, not me."

My face flushed red. I was so very embarrassed, sitting next to Jamie. I silently prayed God would send tape from above and it would magically appear on his mouth to shut him up.

He stuck his pinkie out of the window. I don't think someone told him if you wanted to offend people, it was the middle finger you needed to use...

Then he accelerated, ripping through the road. When the ember light became red, Jamie slammed the brakes with a lot of force. Luckily, this time, I was more prepared. I held on tight, even when the car wasn't in motion.

Hmph, he might be crazy but at least he listened to a red light. Jamie stopped and...to my horror....he started texting?! OK, he's in violation of so many safety rules.

"The nerve of that man," Jamie said, annoyed. At that moment, a jock threw an egg right at him. It flew into the front window and hit Jamie square in the side of the face.

"OK, that's it," He wiped the egg off. The jock ran as the green light appeared, signaling that our car could now move freely.

Jamie's irritation turned into a nasty grin.

"What are you doing?"

He didn't respond as he sped his car in the direction of the jock.

"Try to throw an egg on me and you'll end up crushed like one," Jamie roared as he was about to drive on the freaking sidewalk!
