My patrol with Rock Lock finished, and I decided to walk over to the agency Kendo was doing her work study at. She normally finishes around the same time as I, and we often walk back to the dorms together. When I got there she was just walking out the doors, and looped her arm through mine.
"How'd it go today?" she asked.
"Pretty good. We just staked out the same building as yesterday. Not much action. You?"
She paused to think. "It was alright. There was some criminal scum who tried to rob a jewelry store, but we put an end to that pretty quickly." She kissed her fists, and we laughed.
The two of us walked past UA on our way to the dorms, and heard some shouting.
"What's going on?" I asked. I activated my quirk to try and see what the ruckus was all about.
"It looks like 2-A is doing some skill training. Wanna go see?" She tugged my arm in the direction of the noise.
"Sure." I nodded, and let her take me to where the class is. Ken led me to the field next to the school, where they did their quirk apprehension test last year. We sat on the grass behind the fence and watched/listened to our peers. I let my quirk be my eyes for a bit as I studied their movements. Mr. Aizawa seemed to be doing another quirk evaluation, to gauge their progress and improvements. I shut my quirk off and just let myself listen to the chaotic melody of the students pushing themselves. One however, was much louder than the others. I covered my ears for a moment and tweaked my head.
"Who the hell is so loud?" I asked. Kendo sighed.
"Bakugo Katsuki. He is the one who won the sports festival last year and threw a tantrum." No surprise there.
"Right. Him. He could use a lesson in manners, if you ask me." The orange haired girl beside me laughed at my comment.
"Indeed he could." she agreed.
I activated my quirk once more and used the sounds to locate the brash child. He was hunched over and breathing heavily. I didn't need to see the scowl on his face to know it was there. I watched as he stood up and lifted his shirt to wipe his face, exposing his torso. Quickly I averted my eyes, and heat flooded my cheeks.
"L/n-chan you are blushing!" Kendo grabbed my cheeks and turned my face to hers. "What were you looking at?"
"Nothing." I swatted her hands away and turned back to watch the class. I heard the girl beside me laugh softly and she bumped her shoulder into mine.
"Come on, classes are over soon. Let's go back." We stood and the bell rang signaling the end of school. As we reached the dorm building my phone buzzed.
"Text from: Bestie Erushi." The automated voice read the text out to me. "I'll meet you in your room so we can go over today's lesson and talk~" Eru only used the '~' when she wanted to gossip, so either she had something good for me, or-
"Don't worry, I didn't tell her." Kendo interrupted my thoughts.
"Thanks Ken." She opened the door and we walked into the common space.
"So did you get anything done at your work study? Or did Mr. Rock Lock have to babysit you?" Fuck Monoma. Somedays, I just wanted to beat the shit out of this kid. Itsuka beat me to it though, and smacked him upside the head.
"Why do you always have to pick on her! She will be a great Hero one day and you'll be sorry you ever disrespected her!!" Class-rep to the rescue. She held the smug blonde by the collar and shoved him out of the way.
"Thanks Ken, I could have handled it though." She waved me off so I went to the kitchen and grabbed a snack to bring upstairs with me. I flopped onto my bed as soon as I entered my room and waited for Erushi to come in. A knock came shortly after, and the door opened.
"I'm here." Erushi's voice broke the short silence that fell, and she pulled out the work I missed. I thanked her, and she read over the instructions. I continued working 'till dinner, and Gia helped read out the questions. I wouldn't say literature and mathematics were my best classes, but I enjoyed some of the topics we cover. Others just seemed to stress me out and aggravate me to no end. I finished my last trigonometry question and stretched. I swear, one more of those and I'll mx+b myself off a bridge. Calculate the slope at which I fall. Bonus points if you get velocity as well.
"Okay. I'm done. We can go eat, then talk~" I got up and opened my door. The blonde giggled and we headed to the kitchen. One of the other students in the class brought pork buns and fried rice for everyone, and we all ate together. "Itadakimasu." everyone said, and we feasted. After dinner a few of us stayed back to clean up the dishes and wipe down the kitchen.
"So, about us talking." Erushi leaned over and nudged me. I finished drying my dish and handed it to Tsunotori, so she could put it away.
"We can dish as soon as we finish. I know you got something juicy for me." I nudged her back and she laughed. The three of us finished up the last few dishes and Eru practically dragged me back to the room.
"Okay so on our date the other day, Asahi-kun gave me a promise ring!" She took the chain out from her collar and showed me the ring hanging from it. I ran my fingers over it. It was a simple band, with a tiny t-rex on it. "He has a matching one with a t-rex cut out in his band. They fit together!" She sat there and toyed with the ring lost in thought. It was cute. They're a great couple. As cliché as promise rings are, it made perfect sense for them to have them. I don't know that I'd ever wear one though. Maybe do the Lego piece on a chain thing. You know, where when you put the two pieces together it makes a heart. Yeah, that. It's cute, but not disgustingly cute. Also, Lego.
"Eru-san, do you know Bakugo Katsuki?" I asked.
"Huh? Yeah, from 2-A right?" I nodded in answer. "What about him?" she asked.
"Just wondering what his deal is. Kendo and I saw their class training today, and he seemed so.." I searched for the right word to use. Not stupid. Not passionate. Not stuck-up.
"Aggressive? Arrogant? Loud?" Eru listed off a few suggestions and we laughed. "Yeah, I heard he threatens almost everyone he encounters. Do you remember last year when he exploded at our class when Monoma provoked him?"
I nodded thinking back to that. Jeez, listening to those two go at it made my blood boil. Sometimes people just deserve a nice, firm pat on the head...with a bat. Gian told me a few more stories about Mr. Anger Management Issues, and I sat in both amazement, and disgust. It is honestly amazing how he got into the Hero course, with an attitude like that. But hey, the kid has got one hell of a quirk I guess.
Erushi and I sat and gossiped a bit more, 'till I kicked her out so I could shower. I sighed as the warm water enveloped me and my mind started to wander. I replayed all of last week's scenarios in my head. Lessons, and things I could have said to Monoma, what I could have done better in training, patrols. All of it. Somehow I land back on the thought of Blasty McSploads, and quickly clear my mind and get back to the job at hand. My shower. I finish up, and throw on whatever shirt I can find and cuddle into bed with my stuffie. Because yes, I still sleep with one. I'm a bad bitch, get over it. Sleep overtakes me quickly, and I fall into dreamworld.
