Word got out about the accidental rescue mission in no time flat, and it was all anyone talked about over the weekend. The heroes who saved the little girl were all over the news; Rock Lock, his apprentice Echo, and The Fly’s sidekick, Shadow saved the day, stopping a very dangerous partnership, before any threats could have been posed. Most of the details regarding the case are still being kept confidential though, so not much else is known, other than that everyone is on watch for the Villain Dabi.
Walking into school was annoying. All the other extras talked about the news, and asked around to see if anyone else knew something they didn’t. Apparently the Echo chick goes to UA as well and people were wanting to ask her questions. I couldn’t be bothered and shoved my hands in my pockets and walked into class.
Deku and Iida were blabbing about god knows what, with Round Face. I ignored them and grunted as I passed, making my way to my desk. I sat down and put my feet up on my desk, leaning back and shutting my eyes. I let my mind wander as I tuned out the rest of the world.
“Yeah, it’s Y/n, from class 2-B.” Racoon Eyes’ annoying voice cut through my thoughts, drawing me back to reality.
“Jeez. Good for her. I’ve seen her fight once or twice before, she is pretty good. Maybe better than Bakugo.”
“Oi! The fuck you say about me!?” I pointed my gaze at Dunce Face “NO ONE is better than me, DAMN IT! I WILL BE NUMBER 1!”
“Okay calm your tits. No need to get defensive.”
“Oh he’s dead.” Tape Dispenser muttered. Shitty Hair grabbed a hold of me just as I got up to smack a bitch and my hands sparked.
“Bakugo, sit down.” Aizawa Sensei said sternly as he entered the room. I shook the red-head off of me and sat. The class was silent as the bell rang and we waited for our teacher to speak. “Now, I am sure you all have heard the news about the rescue mission.” I rolled my eyes and scoffed as he continued. “Please do not bombard the students involved with questions, as they are not allowed to disclose any more information, just as most of you have to keep your case work confidential. Respect their privacy. Now please-” I tuned out the rest of his spiel and opened my books to do the work written on the board.
What is so great about that girl anyways. God she thinks she is so cool, just because she was on a rescue mission. BIG FUCKING DEAL! We’ve all been on missions. An extra like her doesn’t need to show off so fucking much.
I continued to work and through all my classes, all I heard was gossip about Echo, and rumors about what people thought went on. Or how cool she is. Or what her quirk is. Or what a great Hero she is. GOD SHE IS SO ANNOYING! People should say that stuff about me. THEY WILL SAY IT ABOUT ME!

At the end of the day’s lessons, Mr. Aizawa poked his head out of his yellow cocoon. “Tomorrow we will be having our training session with class 2-B. You are dismissed.” I shoved my things back into my bag and marched out of the classroom and to the dorms.
“What’s got you in such a hurry Baku-bro?”
“I'm going to train.” I grumbled. Kiri readjusted his bag on his shoulder and walked beside me.
“I’ll join you then.” I huffed and we kept walking. He followed me to our usual sparring place and set a water bottle down off to the side.
“Ok, come at me.” He taunted. I let my emotions fuel my actions and I sent my fist flying straight for his head. “Jeez dude! You tryna kill me?” Kiri managed to block my attacks and sent some of his own my way. I didn’t listen to him and I continued attacking left and right. It was the only way I could get my mind off of that stupid extra bitch.
Kirishima side-stepped to avoid my attack and relaxed his quirk, dropping his arms to rest at his sides. “Dude, I think that’s enough for today. I don’t know what’s going on with you, but I’m not your punching bag.” He looked at me concerned, and grabbed his stuff. “I’ll catch you later.” He paused, “But seriously, take a break. Get some rest.” Yeah right.
I watch him retreat and my body calms. My knees buckle and I let myself drop to the ground. The park is quiet with the faint noise and bustle of cars driving by in the distance. The sound of someone walking caught my attention and I turned my head. The devil has perfect timing. I rolled my eyes so far into my head I saw stars. It was some extra wearing a UA uniform.
“Pictures last longer.” She remarked as she passed.
“Who says I was looking.”
“I don’t have to see to know when someone is looking.” What? She stopped a few steps ahead of me and turned to face my direction. “I’m not sure what I did to make you so angry with me, but whatever it is, I’m sorry. I didn’t think saving someone would get me so much hate.” And with that she walked away.
Tch. Saving someone? She never saved me. I don’t even know her! She never- oh.
For the second time in 5 minutes I watched as another person walked off, but this time it felt different. I bit into my bottom lip as her figure disappeared, grabbed my bag, put in my earbuds and left for the dorms. So that was “Echo.”
