Eddie was sprawled out on the couch with his guitar in hand, playing with the strings when Steve stormed in. His boyfriend didn't even acknowledge him. Instead Steve stormed through the room and to their bedroom, the door slamming soon after. Eddie frowned and set his guitar down gently before following his pretty boy.
The sight before him as he entered the room tore him apart. Steve was curled up on the bed with his face covered by a pillow and his whole body was shaking. His sobs were muffled by the pillow.
"Stevie? Baby? What's wrong?" He asked as he sat down on bed and placed his hand on Steves leg. The crying continued but Steve slowly removed the pillow from his face. Eddie laid down next to him and pulled him into his arms.
Steve grabbed onto Eddie, burying his face into Eddies chest instead of the pillow. He couldn't stop crying and he hated himself for it. He waited for Eddie to ask more questions but he never did. He just held Steve while he cried.
After a while the sobs died down and the tears started to slow until there were none left. Steve let out a little hiccup as he felt himself starting to calm down. He took a few deeps breaths before moving away from Eddie slightly and looking into his favourite brown, doe eyes.
"Why didn't my parents want me? Why did they leave me?" He choked out.
Eddies heart broke a little when his boyfriend asked those questions. He didn't know what to say. "What's brought this on, baby?"
"I ran into my parents at the supermarket," Steve sighed, leaning over Eddie to grab a tissue from the bedside table so he could wipe his face. "I may have shouted at them. But the whole encounter confirmed my Dad has never cared about me."
"What about your Mom?"
"I don't know. My Dad stormed off but Mom stayed back so I asked her if she loves him. She told me she used to. Or at least she thought she did. I told her I needed time to calm down and that I might call her."
"Will you call her? Steve, she chose to go along with your Dad and left you on your own 11 months of the year. You never had a parental figure until Joyce and Hopper. I don't think she deserves to be a part of your life. She made her choice and it was your Dad." Eddie said, stroking Steves cheek. He knew that probably wasn't what Steve wanted to hear but he wasn't going to sugar coat it.
Steve knew his boyfriend was right. Eddie was always right. "You're right, my love. You're so right. I don't know why I let them get to me like that!"
"I don't think you ever really acknowledged how they made you feel by being away all the time, did you?"
"The first couple of years hurt. Then I guess I just pushed all those feelings away and made myself believe I was okay." He smiled weakly as Eddie kissed his cheek and pulled him into a his chest again.
"Have you ever spoken about your parents to anyone?" Eddie asked, stroking his fingers through Steve soft hair.
"Nobody until you. There's just something about you, Munson. I want to bare my heart and soul to you. Give you everything I have." He whispered as he looked up at Eddie, their lips inches apart. He didn't hesitate to close that distance and give his boyfriend a sweet kiss. A kiss that he put all his emotions and feelings into.
Eddie smiled into the kiss as he felt his stomach fill with butterflies. He would never get bored of kissing Steve Harrington. Reluctantly he pulled away and placed a kiss on Steves forehead. "I feel the exact same way about you, pretty boy."
They lay in each other arms, Steve listening to Eddies heart beat while Eddie played with his hair. Before either of them knew it they had fallen asleep.
