Recovery - Steddie ♡

Chapter Seventeen

After Nancy and Steve had gone back inside the group split off. The boys and Eddie went to play some D&D in Eddies room while Joyce and the girls went to the kitchen to chat which left Jonathan, Steve and Hopper on the couch. They sat in comfortable silence watching whatever they could find on tv.

Suddenly there was a scream and all three men raced to the kitchen to find El lying motionless on the ground, blood dripping out of her nose and all the women huddled around her.

"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?! EL? EL!" Hoppers voice boomed over everyone elses. He rushed to his daughters side and held her in his arms. Joyce, Robin and Nancy were shaking and speechless before Nancy finally found her voice.

"We... we don't know! She was fine and lauging and then suddenly she started seizing, her nose was bleeding and then she screamed and just fell to the floor." She cried, genuinely scared for the young girl.

"El? El honey?" Joyce sat down beside Hopper with a wet paper towel and wiped the blood off of her face. The young girl started to stir at the contact.

The boys and Eddie rushed into the room and Mike was immediately at his girlfriends side. He didn't say anything. He just looked at Hopper who just shrugged.

They all stood in silence and waited for El to wake up. After what seemed like hours the young girls eyes started to flutter and slowly open. A groan escaped her lips as she pressed one hand against the side of her head.

"El? What happened, sweetheart?" Hopper asked, trying to be patient while she came to.

She didn't say anything at first but when she did the words thats came out of her mouth gave everyone goose bumps.

"I saw her. I heard her. I can save her."

Steve and Robin sat together on the sofa while Eddie was sat in the arm chair with a sleepy Will in his arms. It had been an hour since everyone else had left to go back to Hawkins to look into how they could get Max back. Eddie wasn't allowed to go because he was supposed to be dead. Hopper was in the same boat but at the same time people didn't think he was a murderer so he went with everyone else. If anyone could protect them all it was Hopper.

Will wasn't allowed to go because of his connection to the upside down. He was actually relieved though because he didn't want to go anywhere near the Upside Down or Vecna ever again. Robin opted to stay behind and help Eddie look after Will.

As for Steve? He wanted to go with the others but they wouldn't allow him to. He didn't understand why and he was very pissed off. His job was to protect his family and he couldn't do that.

Robin and Eddie exchanged concerned looks as they watched Steve get up off the couch and pace angrily around the room. At one point he kicked the bookcase and Will jumped out of his skin at the sound.

"Steve, I know you're angry and worried but this pacing and hitting things won't do anything!" Robin piped up, hoping the man would listen to her.

"HOW CAN YOU BE SO CALM ABOUT THIS ROBIN?" Steve shouted at her, letting his anger get the better of him. He immediately regretted it when he saw the look on his best friends face. "I'm so sorry, Rob. I didn't mean to shout at you."

"That was really shitty of you, dude. We are all worried!" She replied, crossing her arms and leaning back. She grabbed the tv remote and switched it on. "I forgive you but don't ever shout at me again, dingus."

Eddie just watched without saying anything. When the others were done with their drama he whispered to Will to go sit with Robin and keep her company so he could talk to his boyfriend. Will did as he was told and Robin quickly engulfed him in a hug to comfort them both. She had become quite fond of all the kids but Will was her favourite.
