Recovery - Steddie ♡

Chapter Thirty Three

"Oh my god, we're finally here!" Robin exclaimed, waking up the two siblings in the back of the car. They had fallen asleep whilst bickering again. Max had switched with Robin and was driving in the moving van with Eddie.

Erica was the first to wake up and as she looked out the car window she let out an excited squeal. She turned to her brother and started poking him in the arm. "Lucas! Wake your ass up!"

Lucas groaned and slapped her hand away. "Stop that before you lose a hand!"

Steve rolled his eyes at the pair. They had been split up by traffic from Joyce and Hopper earlier so he was relieved to see her car and the other moving van come into view. After that first motel they had left at 5:30am and driven the whole day, stopping for toilet breaks every few hours. They had stayed in another motel the next night and again, left early. Its had taken them just over two days but they were finally here.

"How far away is the new place?" Robin asked, failing to turn away from the scenery. It was so much brighter than Hawkins and everyone was dressed so differently. She knew she was going to love it in California.

"About another half hour, I think." Steve replied, looking in the rear view mirror to check on Max and Eddie. They seemed to be having a good laugh about something and Steve smiled to himself. "It's been a long ass journey. Especially with these two losers in the back!"

He felt something hit him in the back of the head and turned slightly to glare at Erica who had sweets in her hand. He gave her a warning look and she just stuck her tongue out at him. Lucas was too busy staring out the window to take any notice of what was going on.

Just under half an hour later he saw Hopper and Joyce turn down a familiar road with beautiful, big houses on either side. They pulled into a big drive way and Steve pulled into the drive way next to it. He chuckled as Robin, Lucas and Erica gasped at the house.

"Are you guys okay to help us unload our stuff? Then Eddie or I will take you to the Hendersons!" Steve asked the two in the back as they unbuckled their seat belts. They both nodded at him before eagerly getting out of the car to join everyone else out the front. Steve and Robin shared a quick hug before doing the same. Eddie was already at his side as soon as he got out and he wrapped the man up in a hug. 2 days of barelys being around Eddie had been torture.

"Can't wait to christen the house later, pretty boy!" Eddie whispered in his ear before giving his earlobe a little nibble and then pulling away. Steve shivered and buried his face in Eddies hair so no one who see him blush.

After a few hours of unpacking, stopping for lunch and then setting up furniture everything was finally done. Joyce and Hopper were all set up next door and had gone to help Jonathan, Nancy and Mike set up their new apartment. Steve was meant to be taking Erica and Lucas to the Hendersons new place but he needed to rest a little first.

Steve looked around the bedroom, happy with the layout they had gone with. It was much bigger than their room back at the cabin. He tensed as he heard light footsteps behind him and braced himself for the impact he knew was coming. Not a second later he was being tackled onto the bed by Eddie. He groaned as they hit the mattress but quickly took advantage of the situation and started to tickle his boyfriend.

"S-stop it! Y-you dick!" Eddie struggled to get his words out as he flailed around. Normally he liked it when Steve touched him but this was unbearable and he let out a squeal.

"Why the hell is Eddie squealing like a little piggy!" Robin asked as she strolled into the room. She smirked as she took in the scene before her and slowly made her way over to the bed.
