"𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙢, 𝙄 𝙖𝙗𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙢!"
𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐒 absolutely outraged, her body practically shaking with fury as she ranted to Ginny Weasley outside of the quidditch locker rooms. She waited patiently for the redheaded girl to finish up with quidditch practice just so she could voice her frustrations about Malfoy's previous actions in double potions, the anger she held deep inside that entire class period erupting out of her at full force.
"So Malfoy is your partner in potions now instead of Harry?" Ginny questioned, grimacing uncomfortably when Serena angrily nodded.
"Yes! And the entire time we were brewing our solution, it was one thing after another," Serena cleared her throat, lowering her voice to imitate the pompous Slytherin to the best of her ability, "You were supposed to grab minced daisy roots not regular ones, Wood! You need to stir at a quicker pace Wood, your arm strength is so weak! You used too much lavender! You're going to make it poisonous, I'm going to force you to drink it if you make us fail! Cowardly lion this, cowardly lion that,"
The temperature in the air decreased slightly from the sun setting in the sky, causing goosebumps to form on Serena's arms. She furiously wiped at them with her hands. Ginny distastefully scrunched up her nose as the two girls strolled back towards the castle, shaking her head in disbelief at Malfoy's audacity.
"Did he even help at all? Or did he just sit there scrutinising your every move?"
Serena groaned, "No! He didn't do shit to help me— he pretended like he was going to at least grab the ingredients for me in the beginning, but instead he just stood in the ingredients closet chowing away at his bloody apple and chatting to Zabini while I waited patiently for him to come back so we could fucking start! Then— once I realised he was being a git and didn't actually intend on getting our ingredients like he said he would, I had to walk over and grab them myself! He's absolutely infuriating!"
"Merlin— I feel so sorry for you," Ginny confessed with full honesty, "Did you at least get a good mark?"
"Average at best! I got a fucking acceptable, Ginny. An acceptable! When was the last time I've received anything below exceeds expectations? It's all his fault, he got me all flustered because of how he kept analysing and insulting my every move! And every time I would glare at him or say something rude to him in response, that stupid smug grin would just grow wider on his face! He was enjoying it!"
When they entered the Entrance Hall, Serena frustratedly pulled at her hair, the remembrance of her lackluster potions mark making her even more annoyed at her situation. She hated— absolutely hated— when Malfoy was the reason behind her marks dropping.
Ginny looked at her sympathetically, not really knowing how to console her. Serena truly did get the shit end of the stick. She hasn't seen Serena this angry over something Malfoy did in a long time— the last time Ginny could remember was when Malfoy boasted about Buckbeak's forthcoming execution last year.
Serena was still fuming when they sat down in their usual spots at the Gryffindor table, her eyes practically black with wrath when she spotted Malfoy across the hall, giggling and joking around with Zabini and Nott. This only made her more furious— observing how the blond arsehole was thoroughly enjoying the company of his friends without any remorse for his irksome behaviour.
She didn't even realise how hard she was stabbing her food with her fork until Ginny grabbed ahold of her wrist, forcing Serena to meet her brown eyes. "He's not worth getting so upset over. That's the entire reason he tries to annoy you as much as he does— to get under your skin and get your blood boiling,"
