"𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙁𝙡𝙮𝙣𝙣 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩!"
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐑𝐔𝐌𝐎𝐔𝐑 that Serena Wood and Theodore Nott are involved with each other quite literally spread like wildfire around Hogwarts. All throughout her classes, she's been either getting crude looks from other girls that fancied him, or crude looks from Gryffindors and Slytherins alike that both thought of her as traitorous for supposedly having a thing with someone from her rival house.
It was aggravating— but what was even more aggravating to Serena was that the brunet boy was still nowhere to be seen in the corridors the entire day— making her still unable to give him his bloody jumper back. A jumper that she's starting to believe was a lot more trouble than the warmth it gave her at the time was worth.
Ginny even scouted her out in the halls after the rumour broke, slapping Serena hard on the side of the head when she left Charms class. "A Slytherin, Serena?! How could you not tell me about you and Nott! I tell you everything, you arse—"
"Okay first off, ow! That hurt! Second, that rumour isn't true!" Serena pouted as she grabbed ahold of her throbbing head, and the younger Gryffindor girl crossed her arms with skepticism, shaking her head.
"Then why is everyone saying you were wearing his jumper the other day? A Slytherin's jumper, Serena? Not to mention Malfoy's best friend? You do realise you're a Gryffindor, right?" She accused, pointing her finger at her.
Serena pushed her finger away, "Because he gave it to me since he kind of owed me for breaking my wrist and I was cold— it's a long story. I'll tell you at dinner later, I have to get to Potions."
Ginny's mouth went agape, "Breaking your wrist— fine, you better give me the details at dinner. And I mean the second we see each other later!"
"Deal. Bye Gin, love you," Serena waved her away before beginning her journey down the thousands of steps to get to the dungeons, the freezing cold temperature of the underground corridor automatically hitting her as if she got plunged in icy water.
She rushed inside the Potions classroom, knowing from her many years at Hogwarts now that the heat from the burning cauldrons would always end up warming her up by the time class proceeded.
Once she opened the door, she smiled at Flynn and waved at Neville before begrudgingly taking her wretched seat next to her awful partner, Malfoy.Serena sighed to herself, pulling out her textbook and quill from her bag as per usual and swiftly ran a hand through her hair as she waited for class to commence.
This was the only class she shared with her rumoured lover, and when Nott sauntered in with Zabini, he directly met Serena's observant stare with a smug grin across his face. He nonchalantly nodded his head at her before taking his usual seat in the back of the room, an air of pure confidence following his every move.
Serena's cheeks warmed and she rapidly glanced back down to feign reading the cover of her textbook, right up until the pair of gray eyes burning holes in the side of her face grew too hard to ignore.
"What?" Serena turned to hiss at Malfoy, an annoyed glare etched on her features. Typically the blond would have that glint of amusement in his gaze as he geared himself to start yet another argument with her, or he'd at least indicate that he was about to humour himself by insulting her with an upward twitch of his lips; however... instead he seemed almost enraged. Her eyebrows furrowed at the way Draco's jaw was tightly locked and his hands were balled into fists at his sides, making the veins on his pale hands look more pronounced.
