"𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮, 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙖?"
𝐆𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍 at the invisibility cloak Harry extended for her to take, Serena's stomach churned with anxious butterflies.
She couldn't help but wonder what on earth she was about to get herself into.
A few minutes before dinner ended, the four Gryffindors casually left the table and took a quick stroll through the outskirts of the quidditch pitch, discreetly ensuring that the Slytherin team was still busy at practice.
Then they hid in the shadows as they made their way back inside the castle and down into the cold dungeons, keeping their heads down so they wouldn't seem suspicious to any wandering eyes of other students or professors.
Now, as they hid behind a nearby pillar that stood just feet away from the entrance to the Slytherin common room— the invisibility cloak that Serena was staring at in Harry's hand seemed to be menacingly staring right back at her, daring her to take it and bring their revenge scheme to action.
Serena managed to hide a tremor that ran through her arm as she grabbed ahold of the cloak, her unnerved gaze straying back up to the golden trio's eager faces. "What if it doesn't go to plan? What if I accidentally bump into someone in the common room, or I don't find the ring in time, or Malfoy sees me? What if Parkinson is in his dormitory? How do you know he doesn't share his room with three other Slytherins?"
Ron sighed, "Serena, he's Draco Malfoy. You really think his father didn't spend the money for him to get a single person dormitory? And we just saw Parkinson up in the Great Hall right before we left."
She pouted, "You're right."
"It'll be fine. Malfoy's at practice, and most of the Slytherins are still eating. Just find the ring and get out of there as fast as you can. We'll be waiting right here for you, keeping watch on the entrance to the common room." Harry enthusiastically assured, sending a tight-lipped smile her way.
She nodded, attempting to use what little courage she had to throw the cloak overtop of her. Hushed cheers from the golden trio once again filled their little space, and Serena took a deep breath to try and calm her nerves, hesitantly walking up to the entrance of the Slytherin common room— what was just a stretch of stone wall.
She wondered how the trio managed to find where it was so easily.
"Pureblood," Her mouth whispered almost inaudibly. The entrance formed, granting Serena the ability to enter, and when she saw that the Slytherin common room was already filled with a select few students that decided to leave dinner early... she wanted to pass out right then and there. Or vomit. Or both.
Serena forced herself to continue, noiselessly moving through the freezing cold common room as she made her way over to the stairs that led to the Slytherin boys' dormitories. Her eyes roamed over the gargantuan window that showed a marvelous underwater view of the Black lake, and she found herself almost wishing she could spend some time observing it to see if she'd be able to catch sight of any creatures swimming by.
Unluckily for her, she had a task to complete, making her unable to enjoy any absorbing characteristic about the Slytherin common room. Just from a simple walkthrough of the place, she found that she adored how elegant, yet dark the ambience of the common room was. It was very different than Gryffindor Tower's lively, comforting atmosphere... but in a good way.
Serena successfully got past the stray Slytherin students without notice, taking reluctant steps up to the dormitories and examining the outside of every door to see which one had 'Malfoy' engraved in it.
