Darkness

Amethyst's POV:

A few moments later we made snow angels and then went back inside. After we changed out of our wet clothes we sat by my fireplace to warm up. I grabbed a few extra warm blankets for us to get comfortable in. Just as Arny was about to put on Adventure Time, the lights flickered and then went out. Darkness consumed the room. My anxiety set in almost immediately manipulating my surroundings. The darkness felt like it was growing closer to me, consuming me. I started shaking and reaching out desperately trying to find something, anything to save me. My breaths became heavier until I felt my throat close up. I heard a rustling sound come up to me. I felt around gasping for air until I felt something soft. I felt around some more, realizing that it was Blueberry I was feeling. She had come to my rescue. She started licking my face to try and calm me down.

Arny's POV:

The lights flickered and went out. Before I could register what happened the room went pitch black. I couldn't see anything. I heard a few short breaths and then gasps for air. I frantically searched for my phone desperately trying to get any light source for Amethyst. Once I found my phone I turned on my flashlight and crawled over to her. She was having a pretty bad panic attack. I wrapped my arms around her and rubbed her back in small circles. "Shh, it's ok love. You're safe. No one will hurt you," I whispered. I felt her take a few deep breaths in my arms. "That's it love. Everything is going to be ok," I whispered. After she took a few more deep breaths she stopped shaking. "Good girl," I whispered in her ear. She blushed and looked at me. A tear fell from her perfect green eyes. I wiped it away and gazed into her eyes. Just the sight of them made me blush.

Amethyst's POV:

I felt Arny's arms embrace me. His touch was enough to ease me out of my fearful state. He whispered softly that I was safe and everything was going to be ok. I had never heard his voice as soft and kind. Everything he did sent butterflies throughout my body. He continued hugging me even after I had caught my breath. My eyes grew heavy as I slowly drifted off to sleep in Arny's arms.
