<Soda's POV>
I wake and stare at my beautiful wife who is still fast asleep next to me. Her hair drapes over her forehead in kinky dirty blonde waves. The hair comes from her head that is filled with years worth of memories. All these years of laughter and walking around Tulsa laughing and having her help us teach Ponyboy everything he needed to know after our parents died, the tears she stopped when I knew my parents would never come back, all those days of hanging around with Steve, and the feeling of love I always knew I had for her from the beginning, even if I didn't admit it.
I remember her that day I first met her. She was dressed in jeans, converse and a leather jacket that was way to big. Her brows were drawn in total confusion and tears were filling her eyes and dropping from her cheeks as she leaned up against fence of a house. I approached her slowly and asked her what was wrong. The first thing she did was pull a blade on me. She pointed it at my chin and I backed up a bit.
"I'm not afraid to use it," she claimed angrily.
"I just wanted to know if I could help you," I repeated. She looked at me for a while and I didn't hesitate to stare right back into her beautiful blue eyes that had tiny specks in them. After what seemed like forever she put the blade back in her pocket and visibly relaxed.
"I need to find my brother, we just moved here and I don't know where I'm going," she had said clearly upset. I nodded my head and asked where he had said he would be. "Some place called the DX," she said. I smiled at her.
"Good news, your close, my buddy and I hang around there, we want to work there after we graduate high school, if I make it that far, anyways follow me," I rambled. I led her to the DX and Dally was waiting for her there. She ran into her big brothers arms and told her that I had helped her find her way. For a moment he glared at me then shook my hand and mumbled a see you later. I watched as they walked away and I never even learned her name until she showed up at the DX two days later when Steve and I were there. We started to buddy around then one day brought Dally and Chris back to my house to meet my parents. Chris seemed timid of my dad, but soon she relaxed. From then on they met the gang and we've been real close ever since.
I think of my dad now. I wonder if he's proud of my getting married. He would be I think. His face would be stretched in a smile and he'd be giving me a huge pat on the back. A tear escapes my eye, but I quickly wipe it away. Its a good thing to because Chris is now opening her eyes, revealing a beautiful shimmering blue.
We stare at each others eyes then burst out laughing. Chris's eyes are watering she's laughing so hard. I take her hand and squeeze it. "We actually did it!" She yells stupidly.
"Well no shit!" I say back still laughing. I pull her into a hug and we giggle quietly together.
"I don't want to get out of this bed," Chris says, her voice muffled my my chest.
"Why is that?" I ask smirking.
"Because then I'll have to face your brothers," she says. I laugh a little.
"Aw shoot they'll get over the awkwardness," I claim. She nods her head and we get out of bed and get dressed. We make our way downstairs and while I hit the couch Chris heads to the kitchen and places a pan on the stove that is now on erupting blue flames. I cock an eyebrow.
"What are you doing?"
"Making breakfast," she says innocently.
"Isn't that Darry's job?" I ask. Chris shrugs her shoulders.
"It's the least I can do since I'm invading your home," she says giggling.
"Your not invading," I protest.
