<Skyler's POV>
Two-Bit, Steve, and Soda have all been shot. Steve and Soda in the gut and Two-Bit by his collar bone. Chris has been retied next to me on the shelf. Dallas remains attached to the work desk. Soda has been tied up next to Chris on the shelf and Two-Bit on the other side of the tool desk. Charlie doesn't know it, but one of my hands is still untied. If something were to go horribly wrong I could try to escape. But at the moment, if I make one move, either I or one of my friends will be shot. Blood has coated almost everything in the basement, groans and heavy breathing surround me. The door leading outside has been locked along with the door leading into the house from the basement. Charlie has re-entered the basement, a knife in his jeans pocket and a now fully loaded gun in his hand. The sweat pouring from his skin stains his shirt, along with the the blood of the rest of us. "Well this is quite a turn out, here I was thinking I would only get to kill two of the most important people to Dallas in front of him," Charlie says smiling cheerfully, "now there are five of you. This will be fun."
"Blowing off your skull would be fun, this is wrong," I say in a raspy voice, my injuries causing pain to shoot through my body. Charlie marches over to me and grabs my hair. He tugs it so I am facing Dallas directly. The gun that was so naturally residing in his hand is now pointed under my chin, aiming through my skull. I see Dallas and the others tense up a bit.
"What do you say ol' Dally? Should we get rid of big mouth here first?" Charlie teases. I grit my teeth and try to pull away. Charlie refuses to let me move.
"Don't touch her," Dallas exclaims, his voice deep, "shoot me instead," Dallas insists. Charlie shrugs and drops my head.
"Okay," he states casually before shooting Dallas in the thigh, right above his knee. Dallas screams and pulls right on his restraints to try and block out he pain. I shriek in horror. "Now that that's taken care of, maybe I should kill hmm," Chalrie spins on his heel and points the gun at Soda. "Maybe you, you are a double hit to the heart aren't ya? Married to Christina and friends with her big brother. Yes you'll do quite nicely," Charlie approves his own choice. Chris begins to shake profusely. Soda clenches his jaw shut and waits for the blow, but it never comes. Charlie glances at the ground as if realizing something. "No," he mumbles, turning and once again pointing the gun at Steve. "You are even more of a hit, friend of Dallas, best friend to Christina and Sodapop, partial lover of Skyler, jokester buddy of Kieth, oh you are perfect," Charlie decides. I watch the whole thing happen in slow motion. Charlie aims the gun at Steve's forehead, closing one eye for better accuracy. I hear Soda yell his best friends name. Out of the corner of my eye, Dallas widens his eyes in disbelief, pulling at his restraints. Two-Bit quickly closes his eyes, not wanting that image to be forever seared into the inside of his eyelids. Christina lets out an ear piercing shriek of being utterly mortified. I remember Steve saying, only a few minutes previously, "I intend to live a painfully long life." Now here he is at gun point, his eyes staring unforgivingly at Charlie. His jaw is set, ready to accept death.
The next part happens within a single second. A long bang comes from the door leading outside. Lena's military boot kicks through the door. The useless piece of the house, falls to the ground with a slam. Lena crashes her body into Charlie's. He is pushed to the side, aiming towards the ground. Not even half a millisecond later, Charlie shoots. I watch the gun move before he shoots. After being pushed the gun changes its course from Steve's skull to my ribs.
I feel the impact, and gasp as I watch Lena push Charlie to the ground. The gun falls from his hand and slides over to Chris's feet. Nausea hits me like a truck. Blood begins to pour from the wound. I feel like a hanging caucus, everything falling out of me for the world to see. Dallas screams and pulls hard on his hand restraints, grinding his teeth together as he does. On the ground, Lena sits over Charlie, punching his face with her ring dressed knuckles. Blood spurts from his face as she lashes out on him. Eventually, Charlie reaches his knife and slashes Lena across the face. She stays on top of him, grasping his neck between her small fingers. The muscles from her military training are evident now, popping out like balloons. Blood drips down her face from the cut on her forehead. It's seeps into her eye and crusts her hair. When Charlie kicks up his leg and knees her in the gut Lena groans and falls off of Charlie. Before he can jump on her, she stands up, having nothing to fight with, but her bare hands. Her long brown hair is caught in her cut and between her lips. As Charlie runs at her, Lena grabs a box from a shelf and throws it at his head. He is thrown back to the ground with a loud thump. I gasp for air as I watch. "Hang in there Sky, Lena will get us out," Steve whispers to me as he tries to pull himself free. Now that I look at it, everyone is struggling to break free. I need to help, Lena can't do this on her own. With my right hand free, I untie my left hand and drop to the ground. The drop makes my head spin, but I quickly regain focus in my eyes. Just as Charlie gets back up and goes charging at Lena, I grasp a lighter from my back pocket and throw it at her. She catches it swiftly and looks around her frantically.
