Homer's pov
I woke up like evey other morning at seven. I even had mouthwatering sex with my man and made breakfast, as was my routine. But something was just off.
Jeremy and I took showers, got ready for work. I was going through my usual stack of cases to reject of accept. My secretary letting me know that I had a meeting later in the day.
Everything was normal but I still felt something was going to go wrong. I could feel it in my gut. Sitting in my office, I groan as I lean back in my chair. Hearing my phone ring in my pocket I pick it up as I scan over my court case. "Watson speaking." I say. Hearing muttered voices I arch my brow in concern.
"What are you doing here?" I hear Remy say his voice seemingly shaking. "I gave you my number but it's been a week and you haven't called me. So I thought I would show up." I hear. The voice was rough with age but it was smooth as the person spoke. "Stay away from me. If I didn't call you most people would take that as a sign to back off." Jeremy said clearing his throat. I could practically see him holding back tears.
Clenching my fist around my pen, I try to strain my hearing. "No I will not back off. Look I know we didn't have the best start but I've changed." As the words fell from that fucker's lip my pen broke in my hand, black ink spilling everywhere.
"I don't care. I'm finally in a happy, healthy relationship with a man that deserves me." Jeremy spoke strongly. I could feel my ears grow hot at his words. I hear a sharp scoff before I hear boots stomping off before I hear silence.
"Homer are you there?" I hear from Jeremy. "Yeah. I'm here. Do you need me down there?" I ask preparing to grab my coat. "I don't want you to leave your job." Jeremy sighed. "I know I'm the boss but fuck this job. Do you need me?" I ask with a clenched fist around my coat. "No I'm okay. Really, I just want to listen to you talk." Jeremy says softly. But I was shrugging on my coat and going to my car.
"How are you feeling right now?" I ask him as I start driving. "I'm a little shocked and scared. I have all these questions running in my head. How did he find out where I work? What if he knows where I live? What does he want?" Jeremy pondered his voice becoming panicked. "Hey. Hey. Jeremy calm down. Breathe deep." I say softly listening as Jeremy tried to even out his breathing.
"I d-don't w-want to run anymore Homer. I've been running for so long and I'm tired." Jeremy says sniffling. Parking my car I run inside going straight to his office. "I know you're tired baby." I sat as I go in his office hearing quiet sobs coming from under his desk.
Hanging up I round his desk kneeling on the floor beside him. Gently touching his hair, Jeremy looks at me with tears in his eyes as he practically pounces on me. Rubbing his back comforting I press a kiss to his hair as silence envelopes us.
I knew that Jeremy was angry and hurt by what had happened. But I could also tell that he was extremely shaken up by it. I mean he hasn't seen that bastard since he was discharged and now that bastard just waltzs into his life. I was angry I was close to hiring Jeremy a bodyguard or get a private investigator. But I know that Jeremy doesn't want that.
"I don't want to keep feeling like this Homer. I feel like that same eighteen year old that was being abused all those years ago." Jeremy sighs making me frown. "But you're not. You have someone by your side and if I need to be your emotional support human I will be." I smirk slightly making Remy chuckle.
"You know sometimes you give off what Maverick would call pitbull energy." Jeremy shrugged. "That's definitely my nephew. Now what do you want to do about this bastard?" I ask. "I don't know honestly. One side of me is like let it go. I've healed since then but I'm still so angry." He sighed rubbing his forehead.
"Listen Remy. Things like this take time. If you want me to, I'll hire a bodyguard for you." I suggest only to receive a odd look from Jeremy. "Homer, no. I have almost seventeen years of hand to hand combat. I don't need a bodyguard. Can we stop talking about this though? Umm...do you have any meetings today?" Jeremy asks me. "I do. In about a hour but I just want to make sure you are okay first. Don't you know at this point that you are my priority." I say kissing his forehead.
"We only met last month. But I'm already your priority." He chuckles lightly as we stand up. "Like I saidy before I've grown sweet for you. Now do you have any more classes for today?" I ask him as he grabs a coat. "No I just finished my class. But I think I'm just going home for the day." Jeremy sighed.
Frowning I turn his head towards me. "Don't shut me out. I'm not a mind reader. Tell me." I say softly. "I've spent so long trying to run away and forgetting about what happened. But seeing him it has me unnerved. I'm trying so hard right now to not panic or have a mental breakdown." He says his hand slightly trembling.
Picking him up, princess style, I gather his things before quickly leaving his office building. Driving in silence as I drive towards his house, even though I know he doesn't want to. I'm highly considering getting Jeremy a bodyguard.
I mean after all pitbulls are known for being a great gaurd dog.
