Homer's pov

I smirk as I see Remy limping around my living room. It's been almost a week since he's been back from seeing his mom and telling me about his past. I did have some underlying anger towards the situation but I've tried to suppress it.

Jeremy has continued work as usual, Jerry has come back to visit him. We all went out for drinks and I listened to their war stories. It felt nice to see Jeremy having fun with someone other than me sharing memories.

"Homer I'm hungry." Remy called out making me roll my eyes. "Who said that I was going to cook?" I reply. "You did when you've been staring in your fridge for almost five minutes." Jeremy snarkily replied. "I-touche. But I'm going to have to go to the store." I smirk closing my fridge.

"Okay but let me ask you something?" Jeremy groaned as he leaned against the island. Turning to him, I grab his hand as I give him my full attention. "Have you ever thought that we are moving a little fast? Like we're always at each other houses. I just....I don't want you to grow tired of me or anything." Remy said making me frown slightly.

"Jeremy, if you have forgotten my love language is physical touch. I'm totally sweet on you and utterly smitten with you. Our pace doesn't have to match everyone else's. We go with what feel comfortable. Do you comfortable with our pace?" I ask kissing our hands. "Yes. For once in a relationship, I feel comfortable. You are the first person I've told about my past that hasn't left." Remy shrugged.

"Well I'm not one of those little boys that fresh out their mom's vagina. I'm a  fifty year old man that knows what I want. Believe me, no one can force me to do anything that I don't want to." I chuckle as Remy looks at me with a soft smile. "Knowing you like I do. I just wanted to ask you that since I know you technically just got out of a divorce. I just, really like you. You make me feel safe. I just wanted to know if I was being to clingy." Jeremy sighed as he played with my beard.

Rounding the island I lift him up onto the island, "Jeremy if you haven't noticed or heard me. I'm sweet on you. I don't care if I'm divorced, you are who I want. This is what I want." I hummed kissing his forehead my arms wrapping around his waist. "Homer I'm not having sex with you right now. My back hurts so much right now." Jeremy groaned frowning. "I'm sorry. I was to rough on you this week, huh." I say to him rubbing his back.

Pulling me closer by my shirt, Jeremy smirks at me. "I said my back hurts right now. I didn't say that you were to rough on me." He stated as he pulls me in for a kiss, massaging his tongue against mine. "Keep kissing me like that and we won't make it to the store." I mumble softly pulling away. Lifting him off the counter, I set him down before I grab my keys and wallet. "You ready?" I ask. "Yes. Do you have a list?" He asks. "Umm...no. Why would I need it?" I ask. "Because people will go in the store needing five things but will come out with everything but." Jeremy said rolling his eyes.

"Well if you want to write a list I'm all for it." I shrug as Remy groans getting a pen and paper. Going to the fridge I call out everything we are going to get as Remy jots it down. "Okay. Ready." He said tucking the paper in his pocket. Leaving the house we get in the car driving to the store.

"Where do you see this going between us?" I ask off handedly. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I don't want to get married but I see a future for us. As you say, I've grown sweet on you." Jeremy hummed softly. "Good. You can't get rid of me. Besides marriage is over rated. Why should we need a piece of paper to symbolize our bond?" I grunt. "Good thing we don't. Now come on." He said as I parked in front of the store.

Getting out the car, we go inside getting a cart before proceeding with shopping. Following behind Jeremy as he put things that we needed in the cart. Looking at Jeremy picking out fresh vegetables I smile slightly.

When I was married to Violet, she used to hate for me to go shopping with her. She said it was her 'me' time. Hell looking back at it, I stopped having feelings for her and I think it was the same for her. All in all we were just to different.

"What are you smiling at so hard?" Remy asked asked a he picked out two heads of lettuce. "You just seem so domestic. Or as Maverick would say I have tamed a stallion." I say hearing a outburst of laughter from Jeremy.

"Whatever. Come on we need to go pick out some meat." He said as he wiped his  watery eyes as he stood up straight. Following him to the meat section, I hum softly as I watch him put stuff in the cart. Seeing a person brush up against him, I tense as I stand to my full height. Noticing them slip something in Jeremy's hand before walking away I glare at the man as he passes me. Blue eyes clashing with my brown.
