Sitting in this meeting with Max and Jeremy. I look at Max, a firm look on his features as his fingers steadily type on the keyboard. I could see how upset he was while Jeremy explained what happened to him.

"We have a strong case that can put this man away from years. Not to mention he's been AWOL for years. It says here his father was a highly appointed judge that had connections back in 1970 to 1990. Looking at all the evidence we have here there is no possible way that he can't get out of this. On top of being AWOL, we have charges of rape. Charges of aggravated stalking, violating a restraining order.
I've called former partners of his and they all are willing to testify. I've also got in contact with the people who reported noises from your room but it was looked over. " Max shared going through his files of paperwork and laptop.

"So we could win? He could go away for a while." Remy said. "Not just a while but the rest of his life." Max nodded as he clasped his hand together. "Thank you. Umm...I need some air." He sighed as he got up. Watching him step out the room going directly to the bathroom.

"He's such a amazing guy. Jeremy always supports everyone, takes care of everyone. Seeing him going through this, is heartbreaking." Max said shaking his head solemnly. I stayed quiet for a moment trying to piece together what I want to say. "From my understanding, you wouldn't of known since you met him when he was sargeant. So don't feel guilty. Thank you for your time today. We'll be in contact." I say as I stand up leaving the room going in search of Jeremy.

Following the soft sound of quiet sniffles, I find him crouched down under the sink. Sitting down on the floor beside him, I don't say anything opting to rub his back.

"I-I thought I had put this behind me. B-but I'm so angry. I-I-I'm embarrassed." Jeremy sniffled as he hid his face in his arms. "Why are you embarrassed?" I asked him. "For almost 17 years I thought this whole situation was over and done with. Now I'm going to h-have to say exactly what happened in front of a whole courtroom." He said his fist clenched around his pants.

"Think about it like this then. You are helping in putting a criminal in jail. He won't be able to hurt any more people and get away with it." I said as I held his clenched fist. "I know. I know but I just feel so weak." Jeremy whispered making me frown. "C'mon let's go home." I say as I stand up offering him a hand.

Taking it, I lead Jeremy outside to the car driving home. Arriving to his house we head inside settling on the couch. Jeremy cuddled into my chest as I comforted him. "I-I just don't want you to think differently of me." He whispered as he sniffled. "Jeremy that's the farthest thing from my mind. If anything, I want to bypass the trial and just get him sent to prison. But I want you to know I'll be right by your side the whole way." I say kissing his temple. Feeling him nod in agreement, I press my lips to his head once more.

Hearing something vibrating, I pull away as Remy answers his phone. When he answers the FaceTime call, I see a older lady dressed in Nigerian clothes. "Kedu ihe ọ bụ?" She says glancing my way to which I nod. (What's wrong) "Nothing mama." He mumbled. "Jeremy what is wrong? You're crying into that man's chest." She said her accent coming off strong. He started to tear up again.

"Why don't you take a minute? I'll talk to her." I whispered into his ear. With a single nod, he handed me the phone  as he walked up the stairs. "So you're who had my precious boy smiling so hard I thought his cheeks would break?" She said. Feeling the tops of my ears burn a little, "Yes ma'am I am. I'm Homer Watson, I own a law firm here in Pennsylvania." I clarify. "That's good. Can you tell me what going on? Jeremy never tells me anything as he doesn't want to worry me." She says concerned.

"I don't want to tell you across the phone. I'm booking a flight day after tomorrow would it be possible for you to come over here. Jeremy...he needs his mother right now." I sigh glancing up the stairs. "Of course. I'll see to it I'm there. And thank you Homer. I haven't seen my son this happy in a long time." She smiled gratefully before she hung up. Quickly booking her flight, I head upstairs to the bedroom seeing Jeremy bundled up in bed. Climbing in behind him, I hold him close to me.

"What did mama say?" Jeremy said as he turned to me. "I didn't tell her. But when she gets here you can tell her." I say softly wipping his tear stained cheeks. "I don't want to worry her Homer." Jeremy grimaced. "Jeremy, she's your mother. She is going to worry especially since you are her only son." I hum.

"Come downstairs. I'll make you something to eat." I say trying to get up but Remy's hold on me was tight. "Don't go yet. We'll eat later, I just want to go to sleep right now." He sighed. "Okay. I'm sweet on you." I whisper to him. "I love you too." He replies softly
