"Where did you come from?"
Vior dabbed her cheeks with a small towel draped over her neck, mopping up the perspiration that was streaming down her face. The female returned her gaze to the guy, who was neither too far ahead nor too close. What is his problem with keeping a close eye on her?
"As part of our agreement, I finished training Baam for one whole week." Vior responded with a mischievous grin, turning her face to the side to check in on his current expression.
It was reasonable to state that Khun had not anticipated her keeping her part of the bargain. Those insults and bluffs were harmless if one was careful, particularly in the eyes of any ordinary heir of an uncommon family who could rival any high ranker out there. It was terrifying to learn that she had partially obeyed his command.
Khun ruffled his own hair with his hand. After a few days of discussing every possible solution to their disastrous situation, which includes Baam far more than he wants to, frustration sets in. The least positive action he took was to work with a specific Reverie to obtain the desired outcome.
He hated to admit that he was currently powerless, despite coming from the Khun family. Not only was he an exile, he had no connection that was worth bragging about; all he ever had was the brain to solve many kinds of situations, including this one. There are a few areas he still has to work on in order to recognize someone's deception.
And he really has to work on his ability to read people's minds just by looking them in the eyes. This could be his regret, but it serves as an indicator that someone out there is considerably more devious and deceitful, to the extent of wasting their leisure time fooling around with regulars such as himself.
He ought to have been cautious of Vior from the start. But he didn't and disregarded his twisted gut, which was alerting him about the deception she'd told them all. Khun chuckled to himself, seeing her as somebody who may challenge his ability to alter the situation.
