Starclaw's POV
Starclaw woke up in a cold sweat after just having a terrible nightmare. She had dreamt that dragons had come to Moonstone. She shuddered at the thought of Moonstone in the claws of those awful, horrible beasts.
She heard a noise from across the room and looked over to see Sage walking towards her, her strange green Lunar Stone glowing in the darkness.
"Hey, why are you up so late? I thought you were supposed to be 'resting,' according to my mom."
"Couldn't sleep," Starclaw said with a yawn.
"Well, you should try. We don't allow patience up past nine, and it's after midnight."
Starclaw tapped her claws thoughtfully, "I guess I could try......."
"Great!" Sage replied happily, "then in the morning, we can do more PT."
"Can't wait," Starclaw muttered, rolling away from Sage. She fell back into her endless confusing dreams. After a few hours, she woke up to a bright light shining through the windows. She didn't see any nurses so she took this opportunity to go on a walk.Starclaw walked the lawn of the infirmary, wondering where Moonstone was. She hadn't come back to check on her before she headed to school like she usually did. Did her sister forget about her? She did seem distracted by Finn. She suspected they both had a crush on each other without each other knowing.
Well, if that were the case, then Starclaw would just have to tease both of them endlessly till they finally confess. She was great at playing "the annoying little sister."Still, that didn't stop her from worrying. She didn't know how many hours had passed before Sage finally found her on the lawn.
"There you are! I've been looking for you! My mom wants to try some new treatment on your wounds."
"Do I have to? The last ones she tried were so slimy and stuck to my fur for days," Starclaw whined.
"If not, then my mom will probably just do it to you while you're sleeping." Sage said, then added, "and she will probably add some extra gunk just for punishment."
"Well, when you put it like that," she said instantly, getting up.
Sage laughed, "now that's the spirit!"
Hours later, Starclaw was outside —still trying to pick the crusty bits of slime that had come from the new remedies— when she saw Finn coming towards her. She sat up and tilted her head curiously at him.
"Hey Finn," she said cautiously, not knowing what he wanted. "What's up?"
"Have you seen Moonstone? She didn't show up for school today. I thought maybe she would be here."
Starclaw shoved all the teasing remarks about Finn looking for Moonstone out of her brain. Then his words set in, and worry shot through her.
"No. I thought she was at school with you."
"We need to find her. I have a bad feeling that she's in trouble."
"But I'm still not allowed to leave the infirmary, remember?"
"I'm sure we can sneak you out. Besides, you seem fine to me. I need all the help I can get. Please, Starclaw." The way he was begging made it hard to say no.
"Alright, fine."
Finn yelped happily, "okay, if we split up, we can cover more ground. I'll cover the shops and where the queen's workers are. You check the caves and where you both live."
"Got it," Starclaw said, already walking off towards the caves. She just hoped that they could find Moonstone before it was too late.
I'm sorry this chapter is so short! I'm having writers block for Starclaw's POV. I promise the next chapter will be longer. Comment and vote! <3
