Moonstone's POV
Moonstone was very confused. She had seen Bitod come into the prison at the time he usually did, instead of coming to her cell and annoying her for the rest of eternity, he went into the cell she had last seen her sister go into.
She hoped that the queen wasn't still inside of her sister because even though Bitod was annoying, he could get in serious trouble if the queen found out he had been sneaking in. At least she assumed Queen Errier didn't know about it.
She shifted, having been sitting there staring at her sister's cell for so long her claws had fallen asleep. Oh, how she wished she could just take everyone she cared about and tuck them under her wing so she could protect them for the rest of time.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, Bitod came out of the cell with-much to her surprise- Starclaw in tow. Her sister had no chains except for one tied around her neck, the end of it in Bitod's claws like she was a pet he was leading around.
Anger replaced her confusion, taking up every piece of her both from her about to her claw tips. He knew that Starclaw was her sister! He knew that Moonstone cared a lot about her! She had begun to think that Bitod was becoming her friend but then he walked right past her cage to make her suffer? Last she knew, that's not what friends did.
She turned her back to the bars not wanting to see any more. Now she knew never to trust a dragon again. She heard her cell door open and familiar claws scraping against the ground but she kept her back turned, not wanting to see Bitod's traitorous face.
"Oh come now. What did I do wrong this time?" His voice said from behind her, as she continued to keep her back turned. She refused to speak to him.
"Well, whatever I did I can make it up because I have a surprise for you!" He didn't wait for her to respond or turn around -not that she would have- when he said, "I brought your sister with me!"
That startled her so much that she turned around momentarily forgetting that she was mad at him. Plus, she had to see if what he said was true. So she looked past him and it was true!
Standing there was her sister! She ran towards her intending to hug her but was held back by her chains, which almost whipped her claws and wings off. She looked back at her chains and whimpered slightly from the pain, then growled.
Thankfully, Starclaw met her the rest of the way and hugged her with fierce love and protection, which she was sure she was also giving off. Her heart squeezed with joy. Here was her sister standing in front of her! Not in a vision, not in a dream, she was standing there in all of her amazing glory.
Though the last thing she expected was that after they broke out of their hug for Starclaw to lunge towards Bitod grabbing his surprised face and slamming it against the ground, knocking him out cold. She yelped in surprise and looked at her sister wildly.
"Come on, let's escape while we can!" Starclaw said, racing out of there before the guards could realize what was happening.
She raced after her flaming at the guards who realized what was happening. One grabbed her tail and yanked her back just as they were almost to the door. Starclaw ran back and bit the guard who was holding Moonstone but he didn't let go.
That gave a clear chance for all the guards to grab her and lead her sister to her old cell. She was dragged back to the worst place in the world. Bitod was still there, laying on the floor just waking up as she entered with the guards all around her. As Bitod opened his eyes to see her he was furious.
"What was the knocking out for. That was rude and unnecessary. You don't have to be so fierce with me like I'm your enemy." Bitod said, generally sounding hurt.
She didn't even want to look at him. She didn't want to see his upset yet annoyingly handsome face that would make her feel bad. She wanted to be upset instead of getting used to things like she had before.
The guards were chaining her up and the only thing she was interested in was the dirt ground, her wings drooping on either side of her. As the guards left she laid down still not looking at him.
"Are you going to answer me or not?"Bitod said, annoyed but she didn't care for him right now. There was a voice though not a good one and it was in her head. It was herself but it kept saying, "you're stuck here and there is no way out. You should just give up and get used to being a prisoner for the rest of your life." Over and over again.
It couldn't end like this. There has to be a way out somehow, or at least a way to save her sister and a way to save the wolves but she couldn't see a way how.
She could feel Bitod's angry gaze on her but the more he did the more his gaze felt more friendly. It wasn't his normal smug smile or a smile that says, "I'll get you back." It felt more tender like he cared for her
"See you tomorrow at school." He said eventually, sighing and walking out.
Moonstone didn't want to do anything except just lay there and think of a plan but she knew she couldn't just do that forever. Life's too short to be wasted on moping and waiting for your problems to be fixed never solves anything. If she had learned anything from the crazy war it was that you had to do something -and work hard for it- to achieve your goals.
So she sat up and looked at the window and realized that it was dark outside. How long had she been lying there? It didn't matter. It was time to show these dragons who she was.
Looking back on it, she didn't know what had caused her to snap. Though she did know that when she did she felt so powerful.
Moonstone roared like the universe was ending, flaring out her wings and blasting her hotter than normal blue fire at the bars, melting them to nothing but a lump on the ground. The guards rushed to replace them, baring their teeth and bracing their spears at her. Little did they know that it was a very bad idea.
She grabbed the neck of one with her teeth biting right through it, not even stopping when the head rolled across the ground before she lunged at another. She slashed and whirled until the guards were no more.
She bolted to where her sister was with abnormal speed, not stopping to see if her sister was far enough away from the bars before melting those as well. She found her sister just waking up at the back of her cell -thankfully- and she scooped her up and set her between her wings before Starclaw was even fully awake.
She was halfway to the door before Starclaw grabbed her wings and moved her mouth up and down, but she couldn't hear it over the powerful roar in her ears. Eventually, she pointed to a certain cell and she ran to it, internally smacking herself when she saw who was inside.
This time she made sure Finn was farther back before flaming his bars and also putting him on her back right behind Starclaw. He also looked startled at her surge of power and strength. Normally, she wouldn't be able to hold both of them on her back but now she barely felt them. She too was also surprised at herself but it was like her body was acting without her consent. When she normally would be concerned and would think twice before killing someone -even a guard- now she did it like it was an everyday hobby.
She raced out of the prison with only a few more guards in her way. Moonstone spread her wings and took to the sky's not even bothering to look back at the city beyond. She would never admit it, but she was afraid that if she looked back then she would find herself in that prison once more with the queen's horrible laughter echoing through the halls.
