Starclaw's POV

"Can I go to PT now? I'm soooo bored, and PT is where I can at least do something," Starclaw complained to Sumeria. "Plus, Sage is so much more fun than staying in bed the whole time."Starclaw needed to get away to mentally ask Finn to come.

"No, Sage is too busy working with other patients. Then she has to go to her mentoring classes."Sumeria explained.

"Well, can I at least take a walk around the infirmary? My legs are starting to fall asleep."

"Well, I guess there is no harm in walking, so sure, but it must be quick, so then you can rest more."

Starclaw nodded as thanks, then got out of her bed and started walking outside. This was the perfect chance to call for Finn to find Moonstone because Starclaw was getting worried that Moonstone had run away.

She summoned the power from her Lunar Stone —she had been practicing so it would corrupt this time — and somehow opened a link between her and Finn where they could mentally talk. "Finn, hey so um, can you meet me at the front of the infirmary? I'm getting worried about Moonstone. Unless she is at school with you."

"Well, she isn't here, but can I see you in like five minutes because the teacher is staring at me, so see you then."

He disconnected himself from the link before Starclaw could say bye back.

She started pacing back and forth, waiting for Finn, and Sage just had to come in at that very moment.

"There you are! I've been looking for you the whole time, well once I got done with other patients," Sage said, panting, probably from running around trying to find her."What are you doing out here? I mean, I have 10 minutes before I go to help you with... um, what is Finn doing here?" Sage asked as she saw Finn coming up the path towards them.

"Sage, can you promise to make sure no one comes after us?"

"Are you ready to go? Wait, why is that wolf here?" Finn questioned, pointing to Sage as he walked up to them.

"Starclaw, what is going on?"Sage said, starting to raise her voice.

"Sage, let me explain. Well, there's not much to explain except that I and Finn are going to the forbidding mountains and—"Starclaw started to say but got interrupted by Sage shouting: "WHAAAT!"

Sage yelled it so loudly that they had to cover their ears, especially Starclaw, because of her extra-sensitive hearing. Her ears were ringing so much she could barely hear Sage say sorry. She curled up in the soft grass, shaking until the ringing faded.

She sat up to see Finn and Sage looking at her, concerned.

"Oh, sorry as we were being so loud, Starclaw. Sage please, we need to get to Moonstone, so we can hopefully save her and bring her home," Finn said desperately.

Starclaw could tell that he liked Moonstone, which made her even more determined to find Moonstone and bring her home. Plus, maybe after they were done with all the mushy crying and whatnot, she could tease them endlessly about their crushes on each other.

"Sage, we have to get going. Please make sure no one stops us, including your mom and my parents."

"Alright, just please be careful."

"Um, I think we are forgetting one thing," Finn cut in. "We still don't know what happened to her. Flick hasn't come back with any news from her, yet so we can't go find her until then."

"Oh right," Starclaw sighed. "Though do you have to be so wise all the time? Why couldn't you have just let us start searching for her? I'm dying to get out of this infirmary! Oh um, no offense, Sage," Starclaw said, glancing at her friend.

"It's fine. Even I want to get out of there from time to time. Okay, a lot of the time."

"So we are also forgetting how we're going to search for her," Finn said."It will take forever on paw."

"Well, it will be easier once Flick comes back with information on where she is. Assuming she wrote back."

It was as if talking about him summoned him, but she suddenly saw a small, round, fluffy thing flying towards her. She let out a shriek of delight and bounded over to where he was going to land.

"Flick! Do you have a message from Moonstone? Did you find her?"

She held out a paw for Flick to land in and looked at him all over, and finally spotted their note. She saw there was new writing on it, and she went over to Finn and Sage so they could read the letter with her.

They sat there a while, rereading her letter to make sure that was exactly what she said before they finally turned to each other, mixed feelings written all over their faces.

"Well . . . that was unexpected," Finn said, finally breaking the suffocating silence.

Starclaw wiped a tear from her face and stared at the ground, trying not to break into a sobbing mess right there. She felt someone nuzzle her and looked up to see Sage's concerned and sad eyes staring at her.

"Hey, we will find her, okay?"

Starclaw sniffled, "but she said to stay away. She doesn't want to see any of us right now."

"It sounds to me like she has been . . ." Finn chimed in, faltering. Then took a deep breath before continuing, "She has probably been kidnapped and just doesn't want us to be in danger. But it doesn't mean we can't go find her anyways."

"But we don't even know where to start," she said, then realized how much she was killing the mood.

"You guys can start at your cave, Starclaw, then maybe the school you guys go to," Sage suggested

"Ultimuna, but maybe you're right, Sage. We can ask Mr. Czar. He knows the forest very well because of the 'fights with orangutans.'"Finn agreed, waving his paws to make quotation marks.

"Oh right, that so-called story of how he used to be a crime-fighting orangutan until he died and was reincarnated here," Starclaw said, remembering the story that had wasted the whole class time.

"That's it!" Sage said, suddenly making them both jump. "I know how we can find Moonstone!"

"HOW!?" Starclaw and Finn asked in unison.

"We can ask Flick! He knows where Moonstone is and can lead us back to her!"

"But how are we going to follow him? It is not like any of us can fly. None of us have enough power to do that."Finn argued.

"Well, there is one of us that has wings," Starclaw muttered. She knew she would regret telling them both she has magical wings she can create with her odd Lunar Stone.

"What do you mean 'one of us has wings?' The only wolf that does have wings is Moonstone, and that's only because she's half-dragon." Finn said, clearly missing the point entirely.

Thankfully Sage was a lot smarter than Finn. "Wait a second. Starclaw, are you saying you have wings?"

Starclaw nodded slowly, and both of their jaws fell open, and they stared at her in awe and disbelief. The only way she could convince them that she had wings was to show them.

Starclaw took a deep breath and did what she hadn't done in months, too afraid something like what happened at school would happen again. She thought about her Lunar Stone, all the power that it held, and how she could use it for her benefit.

Before she knew it, two wings were sticking out of her back, and she grinned at Sage and Finn.

"Well, who's ready to find Moonstone?"
