Moonstone's POV

She hated her new life. She had to deal with all the dragons droning on and on about how amazing they are and how wolves are evil creatures at school. Then when she is back in prison, Errier always stops by to remind her how amazing the queen was.

All Moonstone wanted to do was unleash herself, burn down this horrible place and fly back to the lush forest. The only dragon that has been at least tolerable was Bitod. It was pretty funny to watch him act so cool around her when she could tell he was freaked about how she had fur in some places instead of scales.

She walked toward the bland dragon school, expecting Bitod to meet her in the entrance like he always did. It turns out, right on schedule, he was leaning against a wall near the door with a smirk on his face. Which, of course, just made her roll her eyes.

"Hey, fluffy scales! Oh, you look even more depressed than usual. What happened?"
"I've already told you, don't call me that! Nothing has changed, just seeing you is enough to make a wol ...." She almost slipped and said wolf but thankfully caught herself at the last minute. "Er dragon wishes she had stayed in bed this morning."

"Is it because I'm just so handsome they can't decide whether to throw themselves at my talons, saying they aren't worthy of being in my presence or to kiss me silly?"

Again, she rolled her eyes, "never mind. Why are you here anyway? Were you waiting for me again? Can you not stand a few hours without being in my presence?"

"It's been days," he corrected. "And of course I can! I just prefer to spend as much time around the fluffy new girl so I can figure her out! You're very mysterious, you know."

"I am not! I just prefer to keep to myself. That's all."

"Then how can you explain why you have fur instead of scales? Why do you have the wolves' magicky stone embedded in your forehead? And why have I never noticed you before!?"

His questions just kept spiraling and spiraling till they got more demanding. She decided to bolt out of there before he figured it all out for himself. She raced into her first class right before realizing it was the worst subject ever made, history.

She begrudgingly sat down in the seat farthest from the front and closest to the door. Just in case she needed to bolt out of there like she often did during history. She waited for all the students to file in. Then the torture began.

Moonstone was lying down, the book that she was reading for homework propped up against a wall when she suddenly heard a noise. She looked up to see the guards dragging a new prisoner into the prison. She caught a glimpse of navy blue fur through the dragon talons scraping across the floor.

It was Finn! But what was he doing here? She had told him to stay away! Maybe the guards had caught him when he was out looking for her? The queen did say that whenever a wolf was spotted, you needed to capture them. But what was he doing so close to the dragon mountains anyways? Was he ignoring her request?

Her train of thoughts was cut short when a moan escaped through Finn's lips that tore at her heart. His beautiful ocean teal eyes fluttered open and looked around wildly. His gaze finally found Moonstones, and there was so much despair and fear in the swirling blue depths. It made her want to burn down these bars and use everything she had to make sure he was safe and free.

And boy did she.

She roared in rage and blasted her blue fire at the two guards outside of her cell, making them shriek and run out of the prison, probably to find the nearest lake. But that also caused more guards to come running towards her, trying to calm her, but her rage would never be calmed. Not while Finn was trapped and in an even worse situation than her, considering he was a full wolf. The guards unlocked the door to try and chain her, but she leaped over their heads and bolted towards Finn as they did. She had almost made it to him —he was staring at her in surprise, probably not used to seeing her so enraged— when suddenly something yanked her back.

She realized it was a chain that one of the guards had managed to throw over her neck when she wasn't paying attention. She cursed herself for being so careless, for letting her rage control her actions.

Moonstone was dragged by the chains around her neck back into her prison cell, throttling her as she went. They then pinned her as she thrashed and roared, chaining her every limb and head to the walls, so all she could do was shudder.

Suddenly the queen strolled in —who must have been alerted by the guards she burned— and walked over to her right as the guards finished chaining her.

"I see someone has been misbehaving," Errier observed in her "you have finally done something wrong, and now I get to punish you for it," voice. "You know what that means. Brainwash time!"

Behind the queen, Moonstone could see Finn being thrown into a prison cell of his own. He looked at her with protective and enraged eyes, no doubt hearing every word the queen is saying is and is not happy about it.

"You can try! I will never do your bidding! The wolves are my family, and I will fight tooth and claw until every last wolf is safe!

"Alright then! Let's try this! Shall we?"

The guards went inside and put a muzzle on her so she couldn't hurt the queen with her only weapon left and then let Errier in. The queen stalked over to her with a smug expression, and she looked right back at her with —what she hoped— was as much rage as possible.

The guards outside put what looked like a big cloth over the bars, probably so the prisoners couldn't see how the queen implied her most powerful weapon. Once that was done, the queen started glowing a blinding light, so much that she had to close her eyes or risk going blind.

She felt the queen touch her, and it was like all the life being sucked out of her. She let out an earth-rattling scream, loud enough that the wolves back home could probably hear it. But the queen didn't stop. The queen just kept going and going until the very last bit of Moonstone's consciousness was left. Then Errier took that, and it felt like the queen imprisoned herself in her mind!

The light finally faded, and she opened her eyes, but it wasn't her controlling them. The chains had somehow melted off during the process. She took one step, two steps but not on purpose. She finally realized the queen was controlling her.
