Heavy panting had first alerted you to the disturbance. Upon investigating it was apparent DIO had been out doing whatever it was he did, and now you were lay on your knees, trying to reattach your partners leg.

"Dio, stay still," you breathed, plunging the sewing needle through his slowly healing flesh. "You've smashed your kneecap to pieces. This is going to take months to heal."
"If that petulant Joestar hadn't gotten away, I would have been a step closer to getting my full power back."
Curling the corners of your lips into a knowing smirk, you tugged harshly on his leg, being sure the fleshy thread was nice and tight. Yours and your sons healing powers wouldn't work on DIO's body due to the fact it was technically dead.

"Papa?"
The homework crumpled in his fist, it's corners transforming into that of a birds wings. Feathers spread to form a vampire finch, its brown plumage fluttering as it glided towards his father, lay on the floor. The scent of blood had attracted the creature's fancy,

Shock had just taken him by surprise.
"GioGio, Darling," you cooed. "There's no need to panic-"
Attempting to soothe him with your loving embrace, the boy shrugged you off, falling to his knees instead.
"Papa, who is responsible for this?"
"This body isn't without it's flaws. The perfect body thirsts for Joestar blood, after all."
"It was a Joestar, wasn't it-?"
"Giorno," you snapped sternly, your low tone grating on him.
"Why won't you tell me?"
"My dearest son, you will have your chance to fight the Joestars when you come of age. Your poor mother has been reattaching this old leg for decades. Don't worry her."

Supping at the lord's blood, you swatted the bird gently, continuing your stitchwork.
"GioGio, banish this blasted bird from my sight, would you?"
"Sorry, Mama."
The bird disappeared into thin air, leaving only his homework sheet behind.
