Hauwa's birthday celebration was a blush pink themed picnic/ tea party beautifully set up at the garden of Umar's Family house.

I looked up from my platter of small chops to look at Halima who had Aliya on her lap taking endless selfies.

Hameeda was engaged in a conversation with two of Hauwa's friend, Hauwa was talking to Rumaisa, and the other guests were interacting with themselves.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying the party except for me.

Khadijah, Umar's assistant, who is also my colleague at the office, who had become a very close friend of Hameeda, then later hauwa too, tapped on Hameeda's shoulder letting her know that she was leaving.

Already?

Hameeda nodded and she stood up to escort her, Khadijah waved at the rest of us before gently tapping Aliya's cheek and hugging hauwa before her and hameeda walked out of the garden.

I was looking at them for the sole sake of looking but my attention was fully on them when Aliyu stopped to have a conversation with them, Hameeda walked forward, leaving the two to have a conversation.

The way he and Khadijah looked at each other, it seemed like they were very comfortable with each other.

Weird.

I've never seen them talk.

Well, you two were in a relationship, I don't think you would have appreciated it if he casually talked to other  girl-..

My previous thoughts were immediately discarded when a realization outweighed it.

WAIT A DAMN MINUTE.

"What's her name?" I repeated.

"Khadijah" he replied.

With the way he was looking at here there was no one on earth that could convince me that she isn't the Khadijah he was talking about that day in the restaurant.

WOW.

Damn, everyone is just out here linking up with everyone, how the hell did I even miss this.

Ya Abdul and Amma.

Al'Amin and Rumaisa.

And now Khadijah and Aliyu????

Where the hell have I been living? Under a rock?

A smile found its way unto my lips, if she made him happy then I was happy for him.

He deserves it.

I looked away from them as they walked toward the parking lot, not wanting to seem like a creep.

Somehow Hauwa ended up next to me when I turned.

I smiled at her "hello birthday girl".

"Hello, birthday guest".

We giggled.

"Does that bother you?" She added, referring to her brother and Khadijah who had left together.

"Of course not, why should it?" I asked.

To be honest I really didn't care.

"I mean you two literally broke up two days ago" she said.

I shrugged.

"I saw it coming to be honest..the breakup I mean, not this duo, I'm as shocked as you are" she said.

I checked again "well you obviously would see it coming with the amounts of rants you and hameeda have suffered" I said, picking up the glass of Chapman and sucking it through the cute pink straw.
