"So...Nnamdi.." I trailed off not knowing how to finish the sentence.
His office was a bit far from my house so I leaned back comfortably in the seat knowing it's going to be a long drive.
Thankfully he understood what i was saying "his company won't be part of the project anymore, his behavior was unacceptable, his money will be refunded to him..which isn't a lot as you had stated" he said which made me chuckle.
After a few seconds I spoke "do you think Umar will be angry that..I chased a business partner away?"
He frowned "Of course not, we would have barely profited from that man anyway, the only good thing he had done is bring the idea for the project, and we will continue with or without him since it's our money, Umar won't care, besides he'll be glad he's out after he learns he tried to hit at you...what a fool" he hissed.
Do you know who else is a fool?
Me. Because I was growing excited realizing this is the most he has said to me at once in a very long time.
I need to be stopped.
"Ok" I mumbled before letting out a sigh.
A comfortable silence filled the car the rest of the 20 minutes drive, only the sound of the soft music coming from the radio.
When we reached my house and he honked before the gateman opened the gate after seeing me at the front seat.
He could have just dropped me here.
He drove in and he parked, from the car outside I could tell mama was back.
"Since I'm here I might as well go ahead and greet mama" he said as he looked at me.
I nodded and we came out of the car.
I opened the front door with a Salam and Ya Abdul followed behind me as we walked to the living room where mama was watching her Turkish series.
She turned and when she saw Ya Abdul her eyes lit up.
"Ah ah! Yau Abdul neh ah gidan namu?" She said with a grin.
(Is it Abdul in her house today?)Mama and getting along with everyone.
He chuckled before squatting down to greet her. After they exchanged greetings he sat down and they spoke about work.
I was standing there awkwardly behind his chair as mama weirdly glanced at my appearance but she didn't say anything...yet.
I decided to go change and give this man his blazer back but mama's voice stopped me.
"Rabi'ah kawo mishi abun sha mana" she said.
(Rabi'ah bring him something to drink)I was about to reply but he beat me to it.
"No it's fine Wallahi, i was about to leave, I need to back at the office" he said.
"Har zaka tafi? Toh shikenan Abdul, nagode sosai, Allah ya maka albarka" Mama said standing up after he stood up.
(You're leaving already? Alright Abdul, thank you very much, May Allah bless you)He started to walk to the door before I spoke "your...your blazer."
He turned to me "it's fine, don't worry about it."
Is he saying I should keep it?
I reluctantly nodded as I walked with him to the door.
"Ok...bye, thank you so much" I said with a smile.
He returned one back "you're welcome, bye" he said before walking off.
I waited until he entered his car before I went back into the house.
