"Toh ku yanzu abunda kuka haddu kuka mun kenan?" Mama asked as she looked at Aliyu in disappointment first before turning to look at me, I immediately turned to look back at Aliyu to avoid her gaze.
(Now this is what the both of you have done to me?)

Aliyu came to greet mama during the weekend just as he promised, I didn't tell her that we had broken up so she was oblivious about the situation until right now when he came to greet her, when she had asked how we were doing, he told her.

Well isn't this awkward?

Aliyu chuckled "Mama don't blame it on me, it's Rabi'ah's fault" he joked.

I threw a glare at him "excuse you?? Don't get me started."

"Please do start" he challenged.

I rolled my eyes at him, he annoys me so much and he knows it.

Mama shook her head at us with a small sad smile on her face.

"It's fine, it's the both of you, you'll find your way back" she said with a reassuring smile.

I made eye contact with Aliyu, we both knew deep down that this time around that won't happen, the story ends here.

Aliyu and Mama continued conversing, the both of them telling each other about work, then Aliyu teasing and annoying Mama and Mama doing the same back to him.

They get along really well and that had always been something that makes me happy.

It was getting to 11pm so Aliyu decided to take his leave.

I escorted him to the door.

"So thee Khadijah is the Khadijah at the office" I said as I smirked at him.

He turned to me with a playful smile "Are you stalking me? Look I've always known that you're obsessed with me but this takes the cake" he joked.

"Qaniyanka" I said with a laugh as I pushed him away.

He spoke after sobering up from his laughter "Yes, It's that Khadijah"

"Hm, you have a type" I said, addressing the fact that I and Khadijah have similar features.

"I think I do" he said.

"You also have a type" he added after a few seconds.

I frowned at him "how do you know that?, who else do you know that I've dated?"

He smirked "not dated, someone you're interested in."

What the hell is he talking about?

He saw the look on my face.

"Abdul" he said, putting me out of my misery.

This conversation can not be happening right now. Not with this person.

I almost face-palmed myself.

"First of all, I do not know where you got this information from because I have no idea what you're talking about. Second of all, you both aren't alike"
I paused "well maybe a little" I said as I assessed Aliyu; light skin, tall, a full beard and a mop of hair that needed a trim.

Apart from the hair they actually did have similar features, Why am I just noticing?

"Denial Denial Denial" he said referring to me denying my interest in Ya Abdul.

What a liar!

But was it that obvious?

I might have voiced the last part out loud.
