Today was my second of being involved in this project.
Yesterday when I came with Umar, it had just been them speaking with the foreign buyers and I kept zoning off.
But today I came with the mindset of paying attention because Umar wasn't here and I actually had to listen to be able to participate.
I read through the booklet they went through yesterday this morning, so I understood what was going on.
Buyers, sellers, money, project, investment, profit.
Got it.
I came to terms that I was mostly going to be in Ya Abdul's office mostly now than Umar's office because of this.
This is exactly what hameeda wanted.I hate her.
I walked into the office and the receptionist who is now getting familiar with me smiled at me.
I went into the elevators and it took me to the floor his office was on.
I entered with a Salam.
I pushed the door a little bit to see Ya Abdul by the coffee machine at a corner of his office.
He wasn't wearing his blazer and he had his sleeves rolled up to his elbow.
"Rabi'ah" he smiled when he turned to see who was at the door "come in"
This was my first time in his office.
I pushed the door in only to see a figure laid on the couch on the by the right.
I almost screamed, I didn't except anyone there.
When I looked carefully I realized it was Amma, she was in a black Abaya laid on the sofa, using her phone.
Why is she here at 9 am????
"You're early" he said.
Am I? They said 9:30
Well it's 9...
So yes maybe I am.
"Sorry..should i..wait outside?" I said.
He frowned "of course not, have a seat, the rest aren't here yet, but they should be here soon."
I walked in and seeing his girlfriend has occupied the entire sofa I took a seat in the other one seater at the other side of the room.
It seemed like she didn't notice me even though I and Ya Abdul were conversing loud and clear so I decided to be the bigger person and I spoke to her.
"Hello Amma" I said with a small smile in her direction.
She didn't reply, she didn't even look in my direction.
Ok...
Ya Abdul frowned at his coffee machine and he turned to look at her.
"Amma?" He said to her.
She looked up from her phone as she batted her eyelashes at him "yes baby?"
I should have waited till the 9:30.
"Rabi'ah spoke to you" he said as he gestured to me with his head.
"Oh? I didn't see her, hey Rabia'ah" she said with a wide grin in my direction.
You didn't see me??
We're the only three in this office and you didn't see me?
Girl please.
Moral of the story: never be the bigger person.
I didn't return her grin back and I answered with a 'hey' not even wanting to have a conversation with her.
