"Menene Aliya, I fed you what else do you want want?" Hameeda hissed as she raised up her six months old daughter talking to her as if she could understand what she was saying.

I giggled as I watched the both of them.

Aliya's cry just managed to get louder after Hameeda's words.

Hameeda sighed as she dropped her back on her lap.

I stood up and I walked up to them before I stretched my hands and i picked her up.

Immediately I did, hell broke loose.

Her cry became 3x worse.

"La laaa, Toh ni ba ruwa na" I said as I gave her back to hameeda.

When I heard sounds of footsteps I looked up to see Umar coming out of the corridor with a frown perched on his face.

"What happened? Why is she crying?" He asked as he walked to where hameeda was seated.

"Wallahi I do not know" she said.

"Kawo ta" he said as he leaned down to pick her up.

He kept her on his shoulders, and Aliya turned her face so it was on top of his shoulder which caused her cry to turn into a funny muffled sound.

I let out a laugh and Umar and Hameeda joined me.

He gently shushed her while slowly patting her back and her cry slowly subsided.

When she was no longer crying he raised up his hand and he cleaned her tears using the side of his thumb.

Her little head was rested on his shoulder and she turned to look at I and hameeda like she wasn't the one who has been screaming a while ago.

Hameeda turned to me "Rabiah are you seeing this girl?! Hm, the discrimination that is happening in this house against me isn't even shocking me anymore, Rabiah can you see?"

I laughed as I nodded my head in agreement.

Umar shook his head in amusement before he started to walk away.

Hameeda turned to look at him "you're going with her? Aren't you working?"

"No problem, I'll take care of her, carry on" he replied.

She gave him a warm smile and he gave her one back before he walked out of the living room.

A smile made its way to my face too, their love is so soothing to watch.

Hameeda turned to see me smiling and she rolled her eyes before she straightened her skirt "Abeggg!
ehen you were saying something before Aliya decided to interrupt."

"Yes" I said, I took a deep breath "I want to break up with aliyu."

She gave me a sad smile "it's not working out?"

I shook my head "no it's not, I've been trying hameeda, since that day I had a talk with you and Hauwa, I've been trying, and I know he is too, but it's just not working, he's now really busy with work, and I'm also very busy with work, and then...ugh, I just feel my self falling out of love..with him."

She shook her head in understanding "it's ok, I understand, if you feel like that's the best thing to do then go for it."

I smiled in gratitude.

"How's Rumaisa doing? I haven't seen her in a long time" I asked her.

"She's good o, she even came over yesterday" she said.

I shifted in my seat as I asked the next question "and Ya Abdul?"

Her eyes turned to me as they somehow tried to search my face "he's doing good too."

I and him do talk but we don't talk like we used to, and we aren't close anymore...like we used to be.

But I guess I'm to blame for that, so I shouldn't be feeling this way.

He stopped his silent treatment to me sometime after we found out Hameeda was pregnant, seeing that we had to come together and help her cope since Umar wasn't around.

But every time we talk there's this weird awkwardness there, but that could be just me.

I'm glad that he got over his feelings for me, but at the same time, there's this weird feeling that makes me sad about it.

I've been feeling it for a while now, but I refused to acknowledge it because I have an idea of what it is.

And I do not want to acknowledge it.

I turned to Hameeda and she was still staring at me.

Her stare took me off guard, it seemed like she was wanting to tell me something.

"What is it?" I asked.

She cleared her throat "oh...nothing."

I frowned but I didn't question it.

"So uhmm when do you plan on breaking it to him, I sha hope it's not over a text" she teased knowing very well that I always choose to break up over a text.

Aliyu didn't deserve that.

I rolled my eyes "no it's not, we are meeting up at a restaurant by 7:30." I said looking down at my phone to see the time.

"Ok ok, well don't be harsh on my in law oo, he's a sweetheart" hameeda chuckled.

I shook my head in amusement before I stood up and I turned to take my bag "Let me get going, it's almost Maghrib time, tell Umar I say bye, and kiss Aliya's head for me."

"That is if she lets me, that girl doesn't like kisses, unless it's from her father" she said as she rolled her eyes following me out the living room.

I laughed at her as she moved forward to hug me and I hugged her back.

"Ok, good luck" she said when she pulled away with a laugh.

I smile "ai sai good luck"

She smiled back and I walked up to my car, I started the engine and I waved at her as I drove out of the house
