Chapter 10

I looked at my best friend's husband like he has lost his mind.

"So..you're sending...me?" I asked to confirm if my ears were playing tricks on me.

He nodded "Yes, will that be a problem?" He asked as he signed a few files on his desk.

Not really but it was a bit suspicious how he was sending ME to this office for the meeting, in case he has forgotten I'm a corper! There are many other people who have a much higher status here who could represent the company for the meeting.

Why me?

"No" I mumbled as I looked at him suspiciously.

"Good, that's all, I've already informed them that I wouldn't be able to make it and I will be sending someone in my place" he looked at his wrist watch "if you want to be there on time you need to get going."

I collected the files from the table and I stood up as I tried to process everything about the meeting that he had explained to me.

I left his office before going down the elevator that I had finally gotten the courage to start following, I went out the building to see one of the office cars already waiting for me.

When I saw that Taiwo was the one in the driver's seat I grinned before entering the front seat.

Hameeda had told me about Taiwo once or twice before she married Umar, and after I got to know him I understood why she had a liking to him.

He is such an easy going person, and very sweet too! He's easily my second favorite person in the office after Mrs Kehinde.

"Hello Taiwo!" I said as I buckled my seat belt.

He grinned "Hello Rabi'ah! How is your day going?"

"Well up until now it's been very boring" I said as moved forward to reduce the volume of the radio.

The rest of the ride went on with the both of us talking about our mutual hate for Damilola.

Taiwo dropped me off at the main entrance of the huge building and he informed me he'll be waiting in the parking lot.

It was after I looked at the stairs of the double doors that led to the office that it sank im about how nervous I am.

Oh My God!

Why the hell didn't I tell Umar I couldn't do this?!

What the hell was I thinking??

I've never done anything like this before.

"Ok deep breaths" I whispered to myself.

This will be easy, discuss and take notes of the profits and the shares, then take notes for Umar, that was what he instructed, I can do it.

I can do this.

I took a deep breath and I walked into the double doors

My eyes widened when I saw how busy the ground floor is, and I thought our office had a lot of people!

I can NOT do this!

I reluctantly walked to the receptionist, and after giving her the necessary information, she led me to someone who will take me to the meeting room.

The meeting was on the second floor so I was thankful for the short elevator ride.

We reached a door and the lady stopped "This is the meeting room Ma'am, you may enter" she said.

"Thank you" I said with a smile before she returned one and she walked back to the elevator.

I stood there and I realized I needed to move if I wanted to be done with this.
