By the time I entered the meeting room Ya Abdul had managed to take a seat, so when I came in all eyes were on me.

I could see the clock working in Umar's head as he raised an eyebrow when he looked at me then swiftly turned to look at Ya Abdul who was trying to adjust in his seat.

I tried not to make eye contact with anyone else but my eyes ended up clashing with damilola's who sent me a scowl.

I held the urge to roll my eyes.

I muttered a soft apology for interrupting the meeting as I went to stand beside Khadija, the other spectator in the room.

I brought out the small note pad and pen in my pocket to take the notes.

About 45 minutes to an hour of long boring business talk the meeting concluded.

Umar stood up first and everyone followed.

He gestured for me to follow him.

I followed him jogging a little to keep up with his pace.

"Damilola" he said to me.

I rolled my eyes.

"Ya kawo qara na...again" I concluded
(He reported me...again)

He nodded "You know the drill, we meet in my office, i act like I care, I say a few words and you both leave."

I chuckled, he was tired of us.

Do I blame him? No.

"Ok" I replied.

He smiled at me before walking off to his office.

Hameeda had really changed this man, two years ago who did he ever smile at??? No one.

Damilola came out of the meeting room and he stopped by me before eyeing me up and walking to Umar's office.

I rolled my eyes before following him into the office.

We passed Mary, Umar's PA who was stuffing her face with meat pie.

When she saw I and Damilola her face slowly turned a light shade of red and she quickly turned and she threw the meat pie under her desk and she abruptly stood up.

I chuckled "Hey Mary" as Damilola knocked on Umar's door.

We heard a "come in"

We entered as I heard a soft "Hey Rabi'ah" from Mary.

"Rabiah, Damilola, have a seat" he said.

We sat down.

"This is the what?...6th time we're having this meeting?" He said.

"7th" I corrected him.

He couldn't help but chuckle.

He gestured for Damilola with his hand to start his rant.

Damilola took a deep breath "Well sir, this Lady here has been pushing my buttons, she had always been a disrespectful person but today she crossed the line...".

I zoned him out as I looked at a frame on Umar's desk that had not been here the last time I came into his office, which was two weeks ago when Damilola, Umar and I had another meeting where Damilola ranted.

The frame was a picture of Umar, Aliya and Hameeda, it was in black and white and Hameeda and Aliya were smiling at each other as Umar was looking down at them, smiling.

It seemed to be taken on Nona's 75th birthday two weeks ago.

I was supposed to go but my father came back after a long time of being away from home, so I had to stay so we could have some family bonding time the three of us, I didn't regret it.
