I am so frustrated because I finally got to feel his lips on mine, and I want more. I guess it is fate that we shouldn't be doing this. As much as I want this, I know this can ruin everything we have built over the last five years. I look over to Nate to see his reaction, but his body stills when the person walks in room. I look back and forth between them completely confused. Who is this guy and why is Nate acting like this?

"Sorry to interrupt." I know that voice and try not to gasp as Dr. Fox steps completely into the room. Now I understand why Lily could be drooling over him. He has dark brown hair and intense blue eyes. "I wanted to see how you are doing Cassie." I can feel my cheeks heat up as I try to hide my face behind my hair. I can see Nate give me a look and it's not one I am comfortable with.

"It's nice to see you without everything being so blurry." He has this bright smile on his face, and I am pretty sure any woman would bend to his will. I try to shake those thoughts out of my head. "That is so good to hear Cassie." the smile never leaving his face and I give him a small thanks. Why am I acting this way? I look at Nate and he looks like he is ready to say something when his phone goes off.

"Shit!"

I stare at him with concern. "What's wrong Nate?" He says something but I can't hear it, it's more like mumbling. I know there is a lot of unspoken words. " I have to go." He gets up and grabs his stuff. "Oh, okay." He stops what he is doing and looks at me. "I have a meeting in an hour Cass. I'll be back later." I nod my head. Why does he feel like he is trying to run away. He walks to the door and looks back at me. Just when I think he is going to leave he comes back and leans his forehead against mine. "We have a lot to talk about Cass. Lil should be by soon." I feel his lips on my forehead and I close my eyes for a brief moment.

"See you soon Nate." He gives me that killer smile. I knew his smile was gorgeous before, but it takes my breath away now. "See you soon doll." I just wave at him as he slowly leaves the room. I forgot that Dr. Fox was still in the room. I can feel my cheeks heat up

"Sorry about that Dr. Fox."

"Please call me Derek." I nod my head as he smiles again. He really needs to stop doing that. "That's better, but again sorry for interrupting you and your boyfriend."

"Oh, he's not...I mean we're not..." I honestly don't know what we are at the moment.

"Oh!" Why can't I read his expression? I wish I could put my hands on his face to read his expression correctly. Ugh! Why is this so hard?

"Well, he would be a fool not to. You are a very beautiful woman, Cassie." I feel myself blushing again. I have blushed more in the last ten minutes than I can ever remember. Is he hitting on me? I am so out of my element here. "Sorry, I shouldn't have said that. You just remind me of someone I helped out five years ago." I cock an eyebrow at him waiting for him to go on, but he looks lost in his own mind right now. "If you don't mind me asking, what happened?" He comes to stand close to me and starts to look at my eyes and when he shines the light in them, I blink rapidly.

He chuckles lightly and I glare at him. "Sorry" Yeah right, but I smile anyways. "I was working as an E.M.T to earn money while getting my degree. Let me tell you it was not easy working two jobs."

"How old are you?" I blurt out. Why can't I keep my mouth shut sometimes? He smiles again at my discomfort. "I'm twenty-six." Wow! I thought he was younger. Lily is going to be jealous she is missing out on this.

"I worked at a crash site, and it was a real bad accident. I honestly didn't think anyone was alive." My whole body begins to shake as I remember my own accident. "Poor girl was trapped and it took a while for us to get her out. But she insisted on us getting her parents out first." I gasp and feel the tears finally fall down my face. It couldn't be...could it? "Cassie, I'm sorry if I upset you." I can't speak so I just shake my head and encourage him to go on. "She kept saying she couldn't see, and it made things more frightening for her."
