26. Going Home

You know that everything in your life goes right, something comes and rips it from you. That's how I feel right now. Since the accident I lost my self-confidence and feel like I still deserve to be punished from time to time. The night I gave myself to Nate completely was the best night of my life and I wish it could go back to that now that I am facing the one person, I thought I would never have to come across ever again.

"What are you doing here Hunter?"

Two Days Earlier

I had one of those dreams again where Victoria was torturing me in high school. But for some reason this one is worse than anything I have ever experienced before. I see the people I love the most are dead at my feet and me screaming at the deranged woman with a gun pointing to my head. Just kill me now, I have nothing left since you took it all away.

"Cass" I cry harder as I see his lifeless body next to mine, but I can still hear his voice. "Love, you're scaring me. Please wake up!" What is he talking about. I look to where his body was but there is nothing there. I look around and what was once a blood bath is nothing but me standing outside my parents' old home. My body begins to shake as I hear his voice. "Baby please!" I hear the desperation in his voice, and I close my eyes and when I open them, he is hovering over me.

"You scared the crap out of me Cass." I jump on his body, and we tumble back on the bed, as my hands roam all over his body. He starts chuckling, but to me I am checking to make sure there are no marks on his body. "Cass, are you okay?" He lifts my chin up to look at him, but I cannot speak it because for some strange reason I think it will come true. So, I distract him with a kiss and hold him tight to me, but I cannot fool him as he slightly pushes me away so he can see my face. "Cass, talk to me." I shake my head because I do not want to think about it ever again.

"I don't want to talk. I want to forget." I slide down his body and tug on his boxers and he springs free. I lower my head to lick his tip, but he stops me right away.

"Not like this Cass" I huff out in annoyance and go to get up, but he pulls me back flush to his body. He caresses my cheek, and I will the tears not fall. "Tell me."

"I can't lose you Nate."

"You never will." The first tear falls, and he kisses it away. "I love you too damn much Cass." I crash my lips to his and this time he does not hold back. My hands roam all over his body desperate for more. He flips me over where I lay on my stomach and starts kissing up and down my spine, as he rubs my ass. I lose all train of thought as he pounds into me harder, and I scream out his name as we both collapse onto the bed.

"You going to tell me what happened?" I shake my head because I just can't instead, I take my phone and call my uncle. He doesn't look happy, but I just can't. I talk with my uncle for fifteen minutes once I hang up, I sigh. Nate is by me in an instant. "What happened?"

"I have to go back home." He looks at me with a questioning look. "Back to Perrington. Apparently, something is wrong, and I have to be there. He wouldn't go into details over the phone. I guess it's good in a way because I can tell him I want out of it."

"You don't want the business." He knows I don't, I think he is just making sure that this is really something I want to do. "I'm sure, I never wanted that life. I don't think I would be good at it."

"When do you have to go?"

"As soon as possible. Hopefully it will be no longer than three days. Can you look after Blue for me?" Blue pops his head up from his place and comes over to us, tangled up in the sheets.

"Of course, but after my meeting I'm coming up there, I know it is not the easiest for you to go back there." I throw my arms around him and kiss all over his face. "You are incredible, you do know that right?" I see the blush form on his face, no matter what he cannot take compliments from me sometimes.

"I better get myself ready." I go to stand up, but I am quickly pulled into his lap. "I'm going to miss you Cass. I know it's not a long time but fuck I miss you already." I kiss his lips tenderly. "I know the feeling Nate." I sigh as I get up and he reluctantly lets me go. "I'll let you get ready, and I'll come back and take you to the train station."

"Best boyfriend ever."

"Damn straight." He gives me that panty dropping smile. and puts his clothes on and looks at me one last time with a wink before he leaves. I am definitely the luckiest bitch around.

As I get up and go to take a shower a blinding headache forms and I have to grip onto the wall. It has to be stress from thinking about going home. If this keeps up, I will make a call to Dr. Novac. Once I'm done with the shower, I wrap the towel around my waist and walk into my room and get dressed. I just get my bags to the living room when Nate walks in.

"You ready?" I nod my head and he took my bag as I say goodbye to Blue. Once we are in his car, he holds my hand the whole way. "If it gets to be too much call me or Lily any time, and I mean it Cass."

"I will." We arrive at the train station way too soon and we hold onto each other until the last moment. I swear we act like we were never going to see each other again. "Call me when you get there, love." He kisses my lips tenderly. "I promise. I gotta go." He lets go of my hand as I board the train and stare at him out the window. I stare at him until I can no longer see him. I get a text and it's a picture of him blowing me a kiss. He may be cheesy at times, but I love him so much.

When I finally arrive in Perrington I call Nate first thing and it goes to voicemail. At first, I wonder what he is doing until I hear his message and it makes me smile. Sorry I couldn't make it to the phone. Leave a message and I will call you back. If this is my wonderful, gorgeous girlfriend Cassie. I miss you already baby. God, how I love that man. "I love you too, I miss you so much. What have you done to me Nathan Wyatt Miller. Call me when you get a chance. Muah!" I hold my phone to my chest and look around to see where my uncle is, but I see someone holding up a sign for me.

I take a good look at the guy, and I swear he looks familiar, but I shrug it off. It's not like I remember what a lot of people looked like back here.

"Cassie, oh my God it's really you."

I look at him, I mean really look at him and gasp.

"Hunter!"
