Chapter 13

Grams came in after Carlisle left and said that I have to stay for a couple more days.

It's my second day in the hospital that I've been awake for. Embry texted earlier and said he would be over after school. He was bringing Jake and Quil. I can't lie when I say I can't wait till I see him again.

There's a knock at my door.

"Come in." I say. It opens up to Roselie ans Alice. I smile and they close the door behind them. Roselie comes up and hugs me, well as best as someone can hug another person with wires and a little but of a back injury.

"We wanted to come and see how your doing. I wanted you to know something as well. It's not a whole lot of importance, but kinda is." Alice says, Roselie nodding with her words. I start fidgeting with my hands a little.

"I have been trying to watch your future as much as I watch Bellas, but it's been getting harder to see." I stop moving for a second.

"As in I'm going to die? Or like something is interfering with your visions like a storm does with power sometimes." I ask.

"She means as in something interfering. I know you've heard and talked about stories about shifters. The natives in these parts." Roselie says.

"Yeah, but those ones are just stories. I mean sure vampires ended up being real. I just don't think the boys there turn into vicious giant dogs. Is there a po-" I get interuoted by another knock.

"We should get going. Your right the rabid, filthy dogs are probably actual myths. See you later. " Roselie says. Wow she really hates dogs. Alice nods and leaves after her. Taking their place is Embry, Quil, and Jake.

"Hey. How was school? Also has you rabbit been getting done well, Jake? Quil tell me you fou.d another person other than your cousin to try to bring to prom later on." Yep, you heard right. Quil is so low on the social chart he's one of the cliches bringing a family member to prom, its not even this year. THIS BOY HAS NO FAITH!

"School was fine." Embry answers.

"She's coming along fine. She is going to be so much better when finished." Jacob says, smiling g proudly.

"Uh, excuse me. I might seen like a big shot but do you see the lovers I confine myself to? Only way I will end up not bringing my cousin is if I bring you." Quil says.

"Wow, who replaced you. Where'd you learn such big words," I ask, causing Embry and Jake to laugh as the three sit on the chairs around the room.

"My mom. She uses it a lot. Had to learn what it meant to see if it mean I was in trouble at all." This time all of us laugh. "Seriously though, it's good to see your actually okay. Embry wouldn't shut up about you for the coup days you were gone." Embry looks at him his cheeks looking red. Is he blushing? Omg, I think i am just for that one sentence Quil said.

I look down at my wrist pretending to itch the fluid wire, cord thing. I look back up after a couple seconds.

"Do you know if Belka is okay? I didn't want to bug her while her boyfriends entire family was outside."

"Yeah, they seemed extra on edge for the only tithing that happened being her falling out a window and stuff." Embry says.

"Yeah, I've been told she is doing great. We should both be out soon." I say. Embrys nods.

"I have news. Pretty sure that Sam's gang and stuff, they are looking at Embry next. Gonna try to convert him." Quill says whispering the last bit. I look at Embry.

"I belive his wicked good looks would caus-" I stop myself from talking. Feeling embarrassed about saying that sentence now. What an idiot. "I believe that, you guys are perfect prey. They had Jared and Paul who you said Jared was a loner, and Paul a hot-headed sleep around guy. Now for the other social rejects." Embry, Jake, and Quil all put on looks of a offense.

"How dare you." Quil says dramatically.

"Say we are-" Jake starts Embry puts a hand on his heart.

"Social rejects." He finishes. Embry breaths in deeply, Quil, and Jake's faces scrunch up in determination to not laugh.

"All I said was facts. I don't see any Mr.Populars in here. Or girls knocking on my hospital door for you guys. Quil we were just talking about how you have to bring your cousin to a prom a year from now. Embry we talked the other day about this, and Jake you are a grease monkey no way in heck is a self observered high school girl going for such guys. Don't get me wrong you guys are definitely better than what they usually go for, being Jared and Paul. I just was stating you guys are all going to end up important, just not in high-school where looks, hobbies, and if your a jerk or not tells you your important for four years just to end up a janitor at the same school." I take a deep breathe when I finish talking.

"Dang, you had a lot to say." Quil says. I laugh the guys joining in after a minute.

"Well, you seem ok? Are you? Like your wounds are better right?" Jake asks.

"Yeah, they don't hurt as much. The painkillers they give me a killer. The movie characters are not joking about it." They laugh and it's like when we are in Jake's barn, or hanging out at Quils/Embrys.

Embry clears his throat, and we look at him.

"So I have good news. Nina Avanna said she wanted to go out with me." Right there sends a pain that no pain killer can help. My heart shatters. My breath hitches, I can't believe I am crushing on someone who doesn't like me back. Quil whoops, and Jake pats his shoulder.

"Thats so great. I knew you could pull a girl." I smile and high-five him. He smiles and nods his head.

"How'd you do it?" Quil asks. A smile gracing his face as we all know Embry has been after the girl for a while. I might not have known them as long, but as much as I have a crush on him it's no surprise. He has talked about her almost every time we hung out at the barn, because we are friends that's what you talk about.

"I was walking out of the store and she walked up to me, then asked for my number and said to meet her tomorrow night at 8."

"Where?" We all ask in concert.

"Oh, the diner here in Forks." His smile is so big as much as it's for another girl I can't help but smile too.

It's been the couple of days and Bella and I are out of the hospital. She is getting her dress on for the prom. Edward asked her.

Embry eneded officially having Nina as a girlfriend, yesterday. Not a very good strong suit for me, but I am happy he's happy.

Bella comes out of the closet and twins a little. She has a normal shoe on the foot that doesn't have a hospital boot. The dress is simple and purple.

"Wow. You look awesome Bells."

"Thanks, how's your mystery crush you told me about? Can I get a name?"

"Still a no, but soon. He's dating someone right now so I gotta distance myself a little." Bella nods and we start to the door. She walks down the stairs, me following behind.

She stops about half way down.

"Alice let me borrow the dress." She says awkwardly.

"But the boot came from the doctors. They said it was 'the fashion' nowadays." Charlie and Edward chuckle as Bella laughs. We finish down the stairs and Edward and Bella walk towards the door. Charlie stops Bella though.

"I put a new thing of pepper spray in your bag." He says.

"Wow, Edward might wanna watch out." I whisper.

"Dad-" Bella starts.

"Just be careful ok?" He asks. She nods and moves along.

"Teenagers am I right?" I say.
