Crimson eyes snap wide as he looks at the greenett who is giving him a gentle smile with a sleep washed out look on soft features.
Katsuki heart goes into overdrive because he hasn't seen that look on the fallen angel since he was torn away from him and now he's back, back curled up in his bed giving him that love struck look with clear emerald eyes, but he's a broken angel and that's something a blonde construction worker wants to talk about.
Katsuki runs a hand down a fair skined cheek.
" Fuck, I'm so happy to see you, but right now I don't know rather to cry with relief or be fucking pissed at you for what you did without even telling me about it"
Izuku goes to push himself up into a siting position before a large hand is placed on the center of his chest gently pushing him back down.
" Oi, don't even try it angel boy. You lost your damn wings and now your human which means you get to experience pain. Those two angels, Wings and the dark creepy ass one told me the most of your pain was taken care of but you'd still be sore as fuck so you just stay right there", Katsuki says with concerned but narrowed eyes.
Izuku studies him seeing worry and traces of pain in crimson eyes. He reaches up and touches the blondes cheek watching Katsuki lean into the touch.
" Are you...are you upset with me Kacchan?"
Katsuki stares into the most beautiful eyes he's ever seen while he considers the question just asked of him.
He takes a breath and then stands up as he begins to pace the area right next to his bed.
" I'm.. I'm not upset with you Deku. I'm scared, or I was, damn, I don't think I'll ever be able to get the sight of you laying there in the fucking rain with gaping holes on your back, dying, out of my head. That scarred angel kept yelling at the other one, saying you were dying. Fuck when he said it I knew it was true. The light kept burning out in your eyes, and I.. I thought I'd never see the fucking beautiful things looking back at me again. How could you be so reckless huh?? How could you risk your life and lose your damn wings just for me?!", he yells his voice breaking with emotion as the events of the night come spilling out.
Izuku is quite for only a moment as he calmly takes in the upset male at his bedside.
He finally speaks four simple words.
" How could I not?"
Those simple yet effective words slam into Katsuki like a truck, his resolve finally crumbles and tears spill from crimson eyes.
The greenett went slightly wide eyed, seeing the edgy, strong, always confident blonde break down. It was so rare that the sight made his own tears want to fall. He ignored the blondes warning from before and finally pushed himself into a sitting position with a slight grunt of pain making Katsuki rush to the bed.
" Oi! What did I say huh?! You gotta keep..."
He is cut off when a hand is placed on his wrist and clear emerald eyes stare up at him.
" Kacchan, I'm fine, please sit down with me"
Katsuki relents sitting down on the edge his eyes downcast to the floor not wanting the fallen angel to see the tears he can't fight.
" I'm sorry I scared you. I know how scary sights like that can be and how long they can stay inside a worried mind, don't forget what I was and the things I've had to see my entire existence. I use to cry for some of my charges but I can't imagine how it must have felt seeing someone you love that way, but Kacchan...."
The greenett pauses as he waits for crimson eyes to look in his direction.
When they finally do he speaks again.
