The Mate

Chapter Twenty-One

Neither one of them wanted to get up and go mingle with people. They both wanted to stay in bed and be with each other. He buttoned the last button on her back and she placed his tie on him.

"You're so handsome." she kissed his cheek. "But you're better looking without anything on." she winked at him.

"Let's go." he laughed at her.

They walked down back to the first floor and saw everyone was already up and dancing. There were so many more people than she thought that there would be. She watched people dancing and laughing; enjoying themselves. She liked having everyone around her. She didn't feel so lonely.

Alex dragged her to their table and sat down. As soon as they sat down a plate was served to them. She looked down at the plate and didn't realize just how hungry she had gotten. She began eating the chicken and found that it was wrapped with spinach and bacon with cheese inside. It was melting in her mouth. She took another bite and moaned.

"Calm down there." she heard Alex whisper in her ear. "That's only for me."

She felt him nip at her ear and another moan passed her lips. While he began playing with her ear Ethan was in the corner stewing.

Ethan was beyond livid. He found his Gamma and waved him over to him.

"I want Mel. I want her now."

"Alpha, what do you want me to do? She is with Alpha Alex at the moment."

"I don't care what you do, but she is mine and I want her now."

"Yes Alpha."

Ethan watched his Gamma walk to the table with Alex and Mel. Why did she say she would give him a chance then go off and marry Alex? She didn't even try to give him a chance. Not only is she mated, she's now the Luna and his wife. This was going to be more difficult than he thought.

He could feel his blood boiling and he was fighting the urge to not let his wolf out. He watched as Mel looked in his direction and his heart pulled. He didn't like the way she looked at him. He felt that she had already changed her mind. He knew she wasn't going to give him a chance.

Not if Alpha Alex had anything to do with it. He had to get her alone and he had to make sure that she wasn't near Alex. He was going to take his time with her. He wanted her and no one else. And he was going to have her.

She watched Mel walk over to him and he put on his best smile.

"Hi." she looked him in his eyes.

"Hi." he spoke back.

"Have you been enjoying yourself?" she asked him. She had to be joking.

"Umm. Not really." he took her hand and began walking down a hallway. "What happened to giving me a chance?"

She nodded her head in understanding. She knew this was going to happen at one point or another. "You're right. I did say that." she nodded her head. "However, I was given the chance to marry my mate and become his Luna and wife. I jumped at the opportunity to do just that."

"But I'm your mate too."

She shook her head and turned to look at him. "No, Ethan I am not."

"Yes you are," he tried to argue back but she just simply raised her hand and he stopped talking.

"No I am not. I am your mate but you are not my mate. Alex is my one and only mate. That's why I hate to have to do this."

"No. Don't." he said. "You can't do this."

"Ethan, honestly, I may be your mate but you are not mine. Alex is."

"No, you can have us both."

She shook her. He wasn't understanding. She didn't want to be his. She only wanted Alex.

"Ethan, listen to what I am telling you." she grabbed his hands. She didn't like the way the shock went through her. "You are not my mate."

"But you're mine."

"Be that as it may, but if you say I am your mate but you're not mine and you are going to take your mate away from her mate. Therefore, putting your mate in constant pain."

"But I can't live without you."

"And I can't live with you." she told him.

"I need you." she let his hands go, she took a step away from him.

"Ethan, I know you need me but I need my mate."

"I-I-" he didn't know what to say. He knew what was going to happen next. He had to do something. "Let me at least try. Please, that's the least I could do. Please, Mel. Please." he begged her. He walked back to her; she took another step back until she hit the wall.

Her hands went against the wall and his arms went around her head holding himself up against the wall. She was trapped and she knew she wasn't strong enough to fight him off. She heard Alex's voice through her head.

Are you okay? He asked her.

I'll be fine.

"Please, Melody, please let me show you what I can give you." he leaned down in her ear. "Please." she felt his lips touch her neck.

She shivered at the thought that someone else was touching her in the ways her husband should.

"See, feel how good it is?" he asked her.

Her stomach began to hurt, she felt sick. She didn't like the way her skin felt like it was crawling. He continued to kiss her, letting it follow her jaw line to her lips. She felt his lips on her lips and she tried to get into the kiss. It was a part of what Alex and Mel had spoken about. Go with it.

If something happens Alex will always be there. Ethan managed to get her lips apart and he slipped his tongue in her mouth. She went along with it, even though she felt so wrong about it.

He's kissing me. I'm so sorry.

Keep going with it. I won't be mad at you.

I'm so sorry my love.

It's okay, keep going. I will be here for you.

She continued to let him kiss her. She felt his hands run down her arms. He left her mouth and went to her neck, licking his way down then back up to her ear.

"Feel it." he told her. "Feel what I can give you." his hand went to butt, squeezing it and pushing her closer to him. She felt how hard he was becoming. "Feel me," he told her.

Grabbing her hand he shoved it in his pants. He wanted to feel her hand on him, he wanted to feel her mouth wrapped around him. He made her wrap her hand around him and move up and down.

"Feel it. Feel me. This is all for you." he told her. She felt his breath on her ear. Goosebumps came across her body and she tried to keep the bile down.

He is making me touch him. She linked to Alex.

Stop. I will kill him.

Do I need to stop?

Yes, now. She could hear how pissed he was becoming. She heard how much anger was in his voice.

She pulled her hand out from his pants. "Ethan, I can't. I am not your mate."

He balled his hands into a fist. What was it with this woman? Why didn't she understand that he needed her? "You are mine."

"But you are NOT mine." she shoved him away from her. The force he wasn't expecting made him take two steps back.

"You're going to regret that." he told her.

"No, I'm not. I, Melody Riverwood, the Luna of the Riverwood clan-"

He shook his head. "No," he gasped. "Please no." His head tucked in his hands.
