I sigh, walking into my kitchen and making a quick breakfast omelette. I sit at my dining table with a planner and my food. Nala hops onto the seat next to me and curls up into a ball. Taking out my phone, I snap a picture and send it to Care.

After finishing my breakfast and cleaning up, I check the time: 5:00. I woke up at 4:30 as per usual. I walk over to the chair Nala is in and pet her with a soft smile playing on my lips. Knowing I have to get ready to go, I walk into my closet and pick out an outfit.

I put on the brown quarter-button top, black slacks, leather jacket, and brown converse. Rushing into my bathroom, I quickly put my hair up in a claw clip, grab my bags, phone, and wallet before turning off all of the lights. The knock on the door prompts me to run downstairs and open the front door. "Cami! Thank you so much, again." She smiles and enters my home.

"Absolutely! I'm happy to watch over Nala and the house

"Absolutely! I'm happy to watch over Nala and the house. Now go! Have fun!" I laugh and give her a hug and forehead kiss before walking out my front door to the white 1976 Cadillac Eldorado I own.

After 12 hours of driving and pit-stops, I'm finally nearing Mystic Falls. I pass the welcome sign as the song changes  to Heart of Glass by Blondie. I hum the catchy tune and drive to the Mystic Grille. Putting the car in park, I step out and lock my car doors before entering the restaurant.

"Lia?"

I turn towards the voice and see Matt walking around the bar. A huge smile makes its way onto my face and I run up to him, wrapping my arms around his neck in a hug. He returns the gesture and pulls away, smiling. "Hey Matt," I say kindly.

"I can't believe you're in town! Does anyone know?" He asks eagerly.

"Nope, just thought I'd try my luck here as it seems to be a hotspot for the group."

He nods in understanding. I glance out the window and see a certain blonde best friend.

"Sorry, I gotta go say hi to Care!" Not waiting for a response, I sprint outside and down the street to where I saw Care. She spots me soon after and runs to meet me halfway in a hug. "Ollie!"

"Ellie! You're here! Wha- why?" She quickly continues with a huge smile, "Not that I don't want you here, just... why?!"

I laugh and respond, "To see my best friend of course!"

"I wonder who that could be," she jokes.

"Hmm... I wonder," I tease. We both break into laughter and engulf each other in another hug.

"Care?" I turn around and see Bonnie. "No way... Lia?" She shouts.

I nod and am quickly embraced for the fourth time in the last ten minutes. "We're meeting the others at the grille if you want to join us? Jeremy will be so excited!" Bonnie holds my hand, eagerly dragging me to the grille with Caroline.

Apparently since I've been friends with  Ollie for so long, she knows I'm getting anxious just from me slightly tapping my thigh repeatedly. She leans over and whispers to me, "You'll be fine." I nod and she squeezes the hand that Bonnie isn't holding.

We enter the grille and Bonnie is immediately dragging me to the pool table. I motion for them to be quiet as well as Tyler, who just spotted me. I sneak up behind my brother, Jeremy, and whisper "Piss."

He turns around speedily and as soon as he notices me, I'm picked up in a hug and spun around a few times. "I missed you Lia! How long are you in town?"

I smile brightly at him. "About two weeks as of right now. Did you get the pictures of Nala?"

He quickly nods, his smile getting impossibly bigger. "She's so cute!"

I give him a side hug and turn to Tyler. "Tyler Lockwood. Long time, no see. How are you?"

He rolls his eyes and takes a few quick steps towards me to embrace me. "Hey, bitch," He greets.

"Hey, rotting squirrel corpse that was sucked of it's blood by Stefan the Bambi killer," I insult. That's always been my thing: odd insults.

"What?" Jeremy, Caroline, and Bonnie laugh.

"Lia?" I turn to see my twin sister, Elena, with a small smile.

"Hey," I walk over and bring her into a short but meaningful hug.

"When did you get here?" She queries.

"Just 20 minutes ago," I respond.

She nods and a red-head comes up behind her. Stefan, the Bambi killer. "Wha..." he trails off.

"You know how I said I have a twin?" Elena reminds him.

"Yeah, I just didn't realize you looked this similar."

Elena and I laugh. The three main differences between Elena and I are that I have a little more muscle, longer hair that I keep wavy, and my green eyes opposed to her brown ones.

I see a raven-haired man walk into the grille. Damon. When he walks over, before he can say anything, I knee him in the groin, punch his jaw, and knock him off his feet and onto his ass. Strong vampire my ass.

"Lia! What the hell?" Elena asks, bending down to Damon.

"Payback." They look at me, confused. I sigh. "Payback for him quite forcefully and literally manipulating-slash-compelling my best friend into a sexual and abusive relationship." I take a breath. "Still not enough payback if you ask me."

Care hugs me from behind and I see the faces of the rest of the group not disagreeing with my points. "Love you," she whispers.

"Love you too." She places a kiss on my cheek. I'm with my best friend and could not be happier.

We walk over to a big booth, fitting myself, Caroline, Jeremy, Tyler, Bonbon, and Stefan. Elena and Damon were sitting at a different table giving me glares, but I just ignore them. "I'm Amelia," I introduce myself to Stefan, "if you didn't know."

He smiles and nods, "I'm Stefan... but I have a feeling you already know that." I simply laugh and agree. "So, where are you living, if not in Mystic Falls?"

"New Orleans," I reply. "One question: if you're a vampy Bambi-killer, why would you want to go through high school again? It's fuckin' torture in my experience."

"I just wanna spend more time around these people and I wanted to meet Elena. May I ask why you're experience wasn't great?" He inquires.

I shrug. "Eh," I say, "bullying was the main reason, anxiety was another, and just shitty teachers who will ridicule you for anything."

"Why would anyone bully you?" He asks. "I mean, you and Elena look super similar, and I haven't heard of her being bullied."

"I was always more outcast," I explain, "I was the quiet one. I used to be a bit chubbier, and I was beautiful, but some of my classmates were insecure rude bitches who put down others to make themselves feel better." I lace my fingers together and rest my chin upon them.

"Nobody deserves that," Stefan comments. Thank god. When people say I'm sorry even though they weren't the one bullying, it just makes me frustrated.
