Your Pov 

I don't believe in love at first sight but oh my god this girl has got to be the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my life. Long blonde hair in a high pony tail, her shorts at just the right length, her face stone cold and concentrated...

"Earth to Y/N!! Are you even listening to me? What are you looking at?" Lucy asks as we make our way over to the warm up area. 

"Wait what? What did you say sorry?" I quickly reply back.

"Nope sorry not getting out of that so fast who are you looking at over there?" Lucy shoots back at you.

"What no one just the team trying to get a good look at the competition right"

"Y/N I know you, you never look at the other team you're always in your own space and mindset to even worry about them. So who are you looking at?" Dammit Lucy why do you have to know me so well you think. 

"Okay okay you got me, I'm just looking at their number six, I don't recognise her, she looks so serious" and beautiful, not saying that last part out loud obviously. 

Lucy looks over to see who you are talking about, "oh that's Leah Williamson, she's been out recently I'm not sure why, she's an amazing centre half, she just got the call up to England last week, hopefully we'll be playing alongside her when we get called up" Lucy informs me.

"Lucy I have already told you I only just became a starter for this team, I'm only 21 England isn't on the cards for me at the moment but I appreciated the thought" I dryly reply back to her.

"Y/N you know you're amazing you'll be getting the call up anytime now I can feel it, plus Lauren Hemp just got called up and she is 21 as well, you are definitely at the same level as her if not better, just don't tell her I said that" she winks at me.

She's right Lauren got the call yesterday we were all really excited for her obviously but I couldn't help but feel a little, okay well a lot, jealous.

"Look Lucy I can't talk about this right now, I need to focus on this game, I really want to win the league."

"Okay Y/N you've got this, lets go join the others before Gareth comes looking for us" 

Lucy and I run over to join the rest of the team for the warm up.

After the Warm Up

Gareth calls you over "Y/N can I talk to you for a second?" 

I nervously walk over thinking you're in some kind of trouble "Hi of course Gareth what is it?" 

"I'm playing you in the number 9 role today, I want goals from you but I also need you to create chances for the other girls as well, prove to me you're an all round player and it may just benefit you" Gareth informs you.

"Of course anything you need gaffer"

"Good. Oh and one last thing, watch out for their number 6 she is an amazing centre half, best in the league, stick to her left side and you might just have more of a chance, don't be afraid to pass back and build up play again if you can't get past her first time."

"Of course coach, thank you so much for the heads up and well for the opportunity I guess" I respond. He walks off to the changing room.

*In your head* so I guess me and Leah will be getting to know each other a little more today, not as though I'm complaining though.

On the pitch before kick off

The teams have just been introduced and we're walking down the line shaking hands with the opposing team. I see Leah approaching and I'm really nervous for some reason.

She comes up to me to shake my hand "Hey how you doing? Should be a good game right shorty?"

"I guess you'll find out won't you blondie" I quickly retort back. 

Leah walks off and all of a sudden I am blushing uncontrollably, why did I call her that, she's going to think I'm such an idiot. 

Oh my gos I need to focus I can't think about her right now, we need to win this game. I need to win this game and prove to everyone I deserve to be here. 

After the game

WE DID IT WE WON THE LEAGUE!! 

We managed to beat Arsenal 3-2 in the closing 5 minutes, Lauren sent me an amazing ball in and I managed to tap it into the bottom corner. I don't think I have ever been this happy in my life. Biggest achievement to date so far. 

Oh no Leah is coming over please don't talk to me I'm still so embarrassed from the pre-match encounter. 

"Hey Y/N isn't it? Or should I just stick to calling you shorty?" she teases.

"Haha you're so funny. Oh wait no. But yes hi I'm Y/N. Good game today by the way, sorry I got the better of you a few times there" I banter with her. 

"I do have to admit you played really well, shame I spent most of the time looking at the back of your head as you ran past me, rather than looking at that pretty face of yours" she clamours at you. 

Oh no I can feel myself going bright red. "Oh I don't know about that but thank you darling". Oh my god what is she doing to me.

"Y/N come on we're heading to the changing room to celebrate" Georgia shouts over. 

"Coming!" I shout back. "Sorry Leah got to go, it was really nice meeting you!"

"You too, Y/N, you too, hopefully we'll be seeing each other soon, enjoy your celebrations you deserve it!" She gives you a small hug as she walks back to her team and you head into the changing room. 

I run over to Georgia, she has a massive smirk on her face "Ooooo someone is getting flirty with Leah!!" she teases.

"What?! No I'm not I'm just being friendly she came to congratulate me on how I played thats all" I quickly defend myself.

"Yeah sure Y/Nickname, sure that's what happened"

"Stop it G let's go celebrate please!" I quickly change the subject. Were we really flirting? Don't get me wrong I think she is gorgeous but surely she was just being nice?

2 Days after the match

I wake up and my phone is buzzing on the night stand next to me. It's Gareth 'Oh no' I think to myself, 'have I mixed up days, I'm sure today is my day off'

I pick up quickly "Hi Gareth is everything okay?"

"Hi Y/N can you come in for a meeting at 12 today? I need to run something bye you" he asks.

"Yeah sure I'll be there, see you soon"

'Oh no' I think, 'what on earth could this be about?'
