Hiccstrid one-shots

Why?

Why. Why did I not listen? Why did I have to go after Drago? Why? Why did this happen? Why did my dad have to die?

This is all that was going through Hiccups head as he looks at his fathers still cold body on the ground. Astrid is right next to him. Sitting right next to him. Waiting. Waiting to be there for them when he breaks down.

They loaded Stoick's body onto the ship and pushed it into the sea. Everyone was preparing there arrows. Hiccup lit the arrow head. He looked at this fathers ship. On the verge of tears he shot the arrow. All the other Vikings shot there arrows onto the ship. The boat went up in flames.

Choking on his words "Why? Why did you have to save me dad?" Hiccups started to cry looking at his dads ship. Astrid saw that he was crying and when over to him when she heard "I should be the one dead. I don't deserve to live anymore."

"Why would you say that?" Astrid said in an anger, annoyed, and hurt voice. "What about toothless? What about you mom? What about me?"

"I let him down. I don't deserve to live knowing that my dad died to save me. The village screw up. An outcast." Hiccup looks at the ground. "Plus I should have listened to him. If I just would had listened to him none of this would have happened!" Hiccup saws in a low voice as more tears fall.

"You are not a screw up and maybe you should have listened to your father. But that does not mean that you deserve to die." Astrid says as she starts to tear up as well. Even the though of Hiccup being dead haunts her. "I love you Hiccup. If you would have died. I would have killed myself. I would know what to do with my life if you weren't in it." More tears fall. Astrid pulls Hiccup into a tight hug. "I love you Hiccup. More than anything."

"I love you, too Astrid"
