Senate building. Early Friday evening.
Another session finished. While some people have left early to enjoy the rest of the day. Some members of the senate still stayed in the hall to chitchat over something. Risa's curiosity about the discussion grew so she approached the few senate members who gathered around to watch a video playing on Senator Raffy's phone.
"Bago pa to. Trending." He stated as he played the video again.
The video in question was a compilation of CCTV footage and personal cellphone recordings related to the Highway A thief incident from last night. People were quick enough to take recordings of what happened, most especially those that focused on one particular part of the scene.
"Oh, tignan mo, yung black na sedan." Raffy pointed to the screen, "Babae daw yung driver."
"Baka tambay lang yan na nagkisawsaw." Said one of the woman senators sarcastically, "If I know forda attention lang yung ferson."
"Baka forda concerned citizen lang po ang ferson, Sen Imee." Risa softly retaliated, "There have been so many incidents of robbery in that area then it's only now na people are aware because of yesterday's happenings."
"From what I gathered," Raffy explained, "This woman has yet to be identified. Unfortunately, we can't even get a face because she's wearing a helmet."
"Racer po ba siya, sir?" Risa asked,
"I can't really say. But looking at the video here, parang pang-racing talaga yung kotse niya eh."
"You want to know what's the odd thing?" Another senator joined in the conversation, "News outlets already picked up the story. Imagine, dahil sa isang "anonymous", it's newsworthy. Jusko, even CN Network."
"Well, it's not every day you see heroes in masks and helmets, Mr. Whin." Risa replied, "I'm pretty sure this won't be the first and last time we will see her."
"This isn't technically the first time indeed, ma'am." Raffy said, "I talked with some people in the area recently, and some of them have already seen this woman in one of the street races there."
"So she's a rebel." Imee commented, "Ganyan galawan nila di ba?"
"A rebel helping the authorities catch a riding-in-tandem. A good kind of rebel, I might say." Risa replied without making any eye contact with Imee.
"Sige ipatuloy niya yan." Imee continued the indirect comment, "Sino ba siya? Batman?! Darna?! Feeling comic book hero ata yung gaga eh. Anyway, I'll be going ahead of you." She picked up her bag and left the hall.
Both Risa and Sen Raffy continued their convo related to the mysterious racer. Sen Raffy was surprised that Sen Risa was suddenly ecstatic about this discussion.
"Sir, tell me more about what you know about this mysterious woman." Risa requested as her eyes were still glued to the looping video playing on Raffy's phone.
"Unfortunately, that's all that I know of." Raffy replied, "I admit I am also curious about her. She seems to be quite badass don't you think?"
"Indeed!" Risa replied enthusiastically, "I will always have a heart for strong powerful women. She's definitely something else!"
"Kind of reminds me of another powerful woman that I know of in this room." Raffy chuckled as put his hand out for a fist bump.
"Sir, para sa Inang Bayan. Always." She said as she returned the fist bump to him.
"Anyways, since you're so curious about her, I'll see if I can reach out to my connections to get more information."
"That would be wonderful sir! My sincerest thanks."
