Leni froze at the sight of the taller woman. The slightly glanced at her daughter, the mastermind behind all this.

Has she seen right through me? Of all the people that she invited...

Why her?! Why now.

"Please take a seat!" Aika smiled. She took the other side of the seat instead of her former place beside her mother.

"You can sit beside me Sinta. Sen, you can take the one beside Mama." she guided.

Both women did not speak a word. Risa sat beside Leni without glancing at her. As if she was invisible.

"Thank you for inviting us, Aika." Risa finally spoke, finally breaking the awkwardness somehow. "A lot of things have been going on and it is only this time that I got to spend time with Sinta."

"I guess this invitation was so timely then!" Aika replied handing Sinta one of the menu, "I am glad to at least help get your minds off things. Even me and Mama have been a little busy ourselves." Aika then looked at her mom who is just in front of her. "Right, ma?"

Leni has to do something. She has not told her daughters that she and Risa are not in good terms. Regardless of what had happened, she cared for Risa more than anything else...and the last thing she'll ever do is to make her feel bad and awkward.

"Well, yes." Leni replied, glancing at both her daughter and Sinta. "I actually had a meeting with the team today as we discussed about some projects suggested by Risa's office."

Risa was surprised about the statement. She slowly glanced at Leni, but still trying to be cold beside her. While Leni can professionally face people regardless of differences in views, Risa find it so hard to be professional in front of people that she isn't interested to interact with.

"Are you pertaining to the one I sent like 6 months ago?" Risa asked in a neutral tone, "I thought you are going to scrape the idea?"

"No we didn't." Leni replied with a little enthusiasm this time, "We even plan to add it to our agenda of projects in the next few months. I think those proposals won't really hurt our partners and our funding that much."

"Of course it wont!" Aika interrupted her mother, "With Racer X as one of your "top donors", I think AB can make all their projects this year a reality."

"Racer X?" Risa raised her voice, "Racer X has been visiting AB lately?"

"I think very recently. Di ba, ma?" Aika replied,

Aika. Stop adding stuff up please. You are making this all worse for me.

"Racer X is almost a celebrity na, noh?" Sinta joined in the conversation, "I haven't really met her ever since that hotel collapse. I am still thankful for her because she saved Mama's life."

"To be honest, I am not even sure how frequent she visits AB." Leni answered firmly, "The last time my part-time staff saw her was more or less a month ago."

"So you haven't met each other?" Aika wondered, "That's odd. To think Racer X regularly donates to AB. Shouldn't you be comfortable to meet up with her or something?"

"Aika naman." Leni laughed as she filled up her glass of water to drink. "Our schedules don't match. I doubt if we'll ever cross paths."

"Or perhaps." Aika curiously replied look at her mother. She tried to control herself not to chuckle as she said her crazy delulu theory, "Perhaps you and Racer X are the same person?"
