"I still don't get how you made that shot!" Exclaimed Dylan, leaning against the locker next to mine in excited confusion. I wasn't listening to him though, I was regretting everything, I shouldn't of even gone to practise, I should of turned down my place on the team. I felt the back of Dylan's hand slap my shoulder.
"What?" I muttered. He pointed to the row of lockers across the hall. Allison was leaning against her locker talking to Lydia and... And Toby. He still looked angry which I guess I could only blame myself for.
"I can't believe Lydia's dating that tool" growled Dylan. I smiled over at him.
"If you like her so much then just go talk to her"
"No way, I wish to save myself the embarrassment of being turned down" he said.
"How do you know she'll turn you down?" I asked.
"Maybe because she's, beautiful, popular, in a relationship, slightly evil and... Did I mention beautiful" he explained quickly. I had to stifle a laugh but he obviously noticed. "And anyway your just being hypocritical"
"Why?"
"Dude, you've been here a day and already you can't stop looking at Allison!" He laughed.
"Shut up!" I hissed, but it was too late. The small group looked over at us quickly and Allison had a confused look on her face. I tried to regain some dignity by turning away from them and banging my head against my locker. Dylan had the same idea, and we were stuck facing the wall. Great. "I hate you so much" I muttered sarcastically.
"Thank you" he chuckled. Suddenly we both froze at the sound of high heels strutting their way to out backs. "Oh god..." Gulped Dylan. We turned around slowly and looked into Lydia's intimidating green eyes.
"Hey Ly-" Dylan started
"New boy, Scott right?" She snapped, I nodded. This girl scares me, now I get why Dylan didn't want to risk talking to her. "You're good at your game" she smiled. I gave her a confused look, what was this chick going on about?
"Uhhh" I mumbled.
"Lacrosse!" She snapped again. I looked past her, Toby was gone, but Allison was still there, avoiding eye contact with her head low. She obviously didn't agree with this interrogation. "Anyway..." Her voice suddenly changed into a sweet tone, "Allison and I thought it would be fun if you came to my party tonight, invite only".
I was kind of surprised on how her mood changed, I wasn't prepared for that. Anyway, I used to love parties, whether it was the loud music or the spiked punch I just loved them, now I just don't see the point in getting drunk and loosing all of my clothes in some stupid game. I had to think about this from a different perspective though, I needed to show my dad that I was getting better and going to a party seemed like an okay place to start.
I looked past Lydia again and caught Allison's eye as she looked up, she was stunning, it was hard to focus properly and her quick smile made me feel dizzy. Maybe I could give this party a chance.
"Fine" I sighed, Lydia giggled excitedly. I didn't want to seem to overly eager to go though because I definitely wasn't so I decided to turn the tables a bit, "on one condition..." I said, crossing my arms. I looked over at Dylan who had been silent for the entire conversation and had just been staring at the strawberry blond non-stop.
"What?" She groaned.
"Dylan is my plus one" I grinned. I heard him stop berthing for a second as she looked him up and down.
"Okay" she muttered, forcing a cheeky smirk before skipping back to Allison. The two girls walked off, giggling and gossiping until they disappeared.
"I literally love you!" Shouted Dylan. "We are going to Lydia fucking Roden's party! I can't believe this, I have just died and gone to heaven!".
I laughed, he was way to happy about this.
"Well then you better go get ready..." I smiled. Dylan nodded frantically and ran off down the hall. "Wait!" I shouted and he screeched to a halt. "I don't know where Lydia's house is!"
