"Hey Scott, I have to go to work today, I switched shifts wi-" my dad opened the door and froze, I sat up quickly, pulling the duvets over Allison so she was properly covered.
"D-Dad!?" I yelled, "Knock! Please!"
"Right, right, right" he nodded quickly, rubbing the back of his neck, "You must be Allison"
I glanced down at Allison's slightly anxious face, I would be anxious to if her dad walked in on me completely naked in bed with her. She'd done her best to cocoon herself in my covers and her messy dark hair was covering the rest.
"H-Hi... Mr Adams" Allison mustered up a heroic smile and lifted her hand slightly to wave at him.
"Please, call me John" he smiled.
"What did you want, dad?" I sucked in a breath, eager to get him out of the room.
"I'm working today..." he explained, "Shift change"
"Thanks for letting me know, we might come down a little later" I nodded, giving him the 'go away' signal with her eyes which he clearly understood.
"I'll be off then, there's food in the fridge, I'll drop by the store later, do you want me to get you something?"
"No, please, go dad"
"No protection of any k-"
"DAD!"
"I'm leaving" he quickly replied, shutting the door. I didn't even try and breath normally until I'd heard the door shut.
"That... Was..." Allison started.
"Yeah..." I chuckled lightly, kissing her cheek, "Is it too late to say good morning?"
"I can handle it" she smiled and ran her hands down my bare chest, making shivers run up my body, "Last night was..."
"Amazing" I finished for her.
"I know what they about couples finishing sentences, but you are a whole other story" she smirked, kissing me gently and wrapping her arms around my neck.
"I have to see Dylan" I mumbled against her lips, earning a moan from Allison.
"I know what I said last night about fixing things with him, but that was before we did what we did" she pouted.
"As much as I would love to stay in bed with you all day I really should talk to him" I reached over and picked up her vibrating phone, "Plus, I think Lydia has got the idea that I kidnapped you, how can you have thirty eight missed calls from her?"
"She probably can't choose what outfit to wear today" Allison shrugged, moving down from my lips to kiss the soft part of skin between my jaw line and neck.
"I'm not gonna leave the room then magically fall off the face of the earth" I replied, lying back and lifting her on top of me, "I owe Dylan an apology, like I owed you one, and like you'll owe Lydia one if you don't help her with her fashion emergency"
She shook her head and kept kissing down till her lips were pressed against my collarbone. I sighed, I didn't want her to stop and I could tell she wasn't exactly planning on it either. I sat up and wrapped my arms around her waist.
"Are you free later?" Allison asked out of the blue.
"Yeah?"
"Good because... Well, I was going to say no because of the stuff that happened before but now were back together it would be rude to say no" she explained.
"What is it?" I asked curiously.
"My dad told my mom about our... Relationship and they asked you round for dinner, with me"
I choked slightly and laughed it off, "You're kidding right?"
"...No..." she whispered.
"No?"
Worry. The feeling was definitely worry.
"So does that mean you're coming tonight?" she asked quietly, pressing her forehead into my chest. Say no. Say that's not a good idea. Say you feel tired, or ill. Tell her you like living. But whatever you do Scott Adams, don't say...
"Yes, yeah, okay I'm in" I nodded sheepishly, giving her a half smirk as she looked up. She was clearly surprised by my answer, not many guy would say yes to sitting in front of their girlfriend's parents for an hour as they interrogate him on how mature he is, or whether he's committed to the relationship.
"Seriously?"
"I'm totally, one hundred percent, definitely sure that your dad is going to turn me into mince meat. Although, I'm also totally, one hundred percent, definitely sure that I would be turned into mince meat happily for you" I smiled, kissing her softly as she attempted to keep in her giggles, "Does this meal need a dress code?"
"Not really, just wear more than your wearing right now"
"I think I can handle not turning up to your house without clothes on"
She ruffled my hair and grinned, "Just be your normal, loving self"
"Normal?"
"As normal as you can be"
"Right, got it. As normal as I can be" I agreed, "Anything else I should know?"
"Actually, yes" she bit her lip.
"Okay now I'm scared" I chuckled.
"It's not bad, just my Aunt Kate, she's going to be there and she's very... Outgoing and jokey at times... Just don't be fazed by her humor"
"I can handle that, don't worry" I kissed her cheek and leant over to pull my boxers off the floor, "Smart casual clothes, don't be to tough guy, don't be too shy, don't be too outgoing, avoid the aunt, eat the meal, give you a kiss and hopefully avoid eye contact with your dad because I can tell he smell fear"
"Perfect"
"Pretty much, although the clothes might be difficult to choose"
"And why is that?"
I gave her a sarcastic groan and slipped out from underneath her so I could put on my boxers properly, "All my shirts are made of boyfriend material, I can't choose"
"You suck" she giggled, playfully pushing my shoulder, "Who even says 'boyfriend material' anymore"
"Clearly I do"
I got up and started picking up her clothes off the floor and putting them on the end of the bed.
"I don't want to get out of bed" she moaned, hugging the pillows and covers tightly to her chest.
"Believe me, you can spend as much time as you want in there after I talk to Dylan..." I picked up a stray hoodie of mine and walked over to my cupboard. It was a grey one, with two lacrosse sticks crossing each other on the front.
"I like that one" Allison smiled, gesturing to the old sweatshirt in my hands.
"This thing? I've had it for ages" I shrugged, passing it over to her.
"Well I think it's comfortable" she pulled it on over her bare body and hugged her knees to her chest so she was completely covered by it.
"You know what, it looks so much better on you. Keep it"
"Really?"
"What's mine is yours right?" I chuckled.
"That's for married couples" she smiled.
"Think about it, deep down it goes for everyone"
"Perceptive..." she smiled, finally jumping out of bed.
"You hungry?"
"No... I'm starving"
