"I can't believe you kissed her!" Dylan chuckled, he'd been saying that all the way to school.

"I can hardly believe it myself" I smiled lightly. All night I'd stayed awake thinking about Allison, it was like the memory of her was branded onto my brain, and it was one of the best feelings I've ever felt... It was also a constant reminder that my past was catching up to me, and no matter how much I wish I could just be 'the new kid', I knew deep down I never could, not unless I moved country or something crazy like that and even after moving that far away I still think Katherine would find me.

"Anyways, are you pumped for the lacrosse game?" He nudged me with his elbow as we walked up the steps to Lakeside high.

"Sure"

"Sure?! How can you just say 'sure', this isn't a 'sure' match, it is, as coach would say 'we have to beat Whittemore High or die in the process!' He laughed.

My body stiffened and I stopped at the top step. He didn't say that. He did not just say that.

"What?..." I mumbled, turning my head slightly to look at him. Dylan must of noticed my pale look because he stopped to and raised his eyebrow in concern.

"The game? Against Whittemore... They just joined our division and apparently they're even more amazing than last year" he explained, but I just stiffened over more. I thought I was going to be sick, it was like someone had disconnected my stomach. Whittemore High School was coming here... "Dude... Are you okay? You don't look so good" Dylan put his hand on my shoulder and manoeuvred me to the side so other people could pass.

"Yeah... I'm fine... Just got a little light headed" I forced out. Dylan didn't but it for a second though.

"Light headed?... No, what's really going on?"

"You know I came from there..."

Dylan gave a sigh of relief, "I thought it was something bad for a second"

"It gets worse"

"It always does"

"After my mom... After she died, I couldn't handle who I was and the things I was doing" I looked around with a nervous look, like Ben was going to jump out of now where.

"Things you were doing?" He asked.

"I wasn't good Dylan... I never was, and if Katherine comes to cheer for the lacrosse team, then I don't think I can stay here"

"And Katherine is?..."

"Katherine is my girlfriend" I sighed, giving him a dark look.

"Y-your girlfriend, whoa, whoa, whoa, I thought Allison was your girlfriend?" He gave a nervous laugh.

"Technically I never broke up with Katherine!" I blurted out before covering my mouth. Dylan let out a squeal and bit down on his knuckles.

"So, so, so bad" he mumbled, before looking at my distressed face, "We can work around this though"

"We can?"

"Probably not... But we can try, just be with Allison like normal, don't tell her anything" he instructed, I gave him a sheepish nod. "Don't tell anyone, not Allison, not Lydia, and not Toby"

"Then what?"

"Then we find away to keep Katherine away from you, because no offence, she sounds like a serial killer" he suggested,  I threw him an angry look and sighed.

"We have to keep her away from Allison to"

"She won't know about Allison"

"Ben will have told her"

"Who's he!?" He groaned.

"He's a dick" I replied bluntly, walking past him and pushing open the entrance doors. "And he knows where I am, he was at Lydia's party... The same guy that showed up at my house before my date, he'll of told Katherine everything by now"

"That's rough" Dylan mumbled. "Okay, when Katherine gets here you break things off with her before she can even see Allison"

I nodded vigorously, "that could work..."

"That's because it's my plan and not yours" he grinned, patting my back. "And I'm pretty sure it will work, it's just one girl"

I stopped again and this time he smacked into me.

"What now!?"

"Katherine is not the problem anymore..."

All this time I'd been hooked on the fact Allison was going to come and find me, because I'd pushed everyone else to the back of my mind.

Like Derek...

"Katherine doesn't have a twin does she?" He joked.

"No... But I d-" I started but a hand on my shoulder snapped me out of my dull state.

"Hey!" Allison smiled, giving me a kiss on the cheek which almost tempted me away from the current situation.

"H-hey Allison" I replied with a off guard smile. Act normal.

"Lydia needs to give me back my biology notes so I have to find her..." She sighed, "but save me a seat at lunch ?"

"Yeah, sure, totally" I nodded as she walked away. I observed the back of her slender body as she disappeared into the mass of students, "I really like that skirt..."

"Hey, no, Scotty, stay with me" Dylan cut in, slapping me in the chest.

"Oh sorry"

"Who's the person worse than Katherine?" He asked, getting straight back to the point. That did pull me out of my tainted imagination, Derek... Obviously she'd tell Derek were I was, I just never thought about it until now. If he comes my world won't just become a disaster, it will become his world, he'll consume it until there's nothing left.

"Derek..."

"Derek? Derek who?" Dylan through his hands in the air, "be less cryptic, please"

"Derek Moore"

"Sounds like a reasonable guy, maybe he won't do anything?" Dylan suggested.

"No, no he'll do something"

"How do you know that?"

I thought hard for a moment, there was no reason he should do something but he does it anyway, and if he feels like getting a partner in crime again, then he will definitely do something. Something big... And very bad.

"Because he's my best friend..."
