I instantly got pulled into the raving crowd, I had almost forgotten how easy it was to be pulled into the mass of hot, dancing bodies. When I got clamped between to blonde girls I decided it was too much, so I pulled away and slipped through the small gaps in between the clubbers before holding onto the bar table for support.
"Drink?" Said the young bar man with a tank top on that said 'my favourite cat to play with is a cougar'. I could really really use a drink now.
"No, I'm driving" I shouted over the music. He gave me a nod and moved onto the next person.
I rested my palms on the metal bar and shut my eyes, letting the cold metal cool off my palms. I'd moved 44 miles away from my old life and still I couldn't escape it. It's bad enough that Ben Charleston knew, now he was going to tell Katherine, and Katherine would tell Derek, and they would come here, and they'd find Allison, and then everybody; Allison, Stiles, Lydia, Toby, they'd all find out who I was and how I used to act. Then they'd all hate me, including the one girl I've actually ever had, good, sane, feelings for, so basically I c-
I was cut from my train of thought by a soft hand touching the back of my shoulder, my hands slipped off the table and my eyes made contact with Allison's.
"Hey, I lost you" she smiled.
"It's a little busier than I thought it would be" I chuckled, turning around fully to face her, leaning back against the bar.
"Definitely" she agreed, raising her voice over the music.
I looked over to see Lydia with Toby pressed up against her. She was too busy with him to notice us but it reminded me that we were technically on a double date. So I did what any date would do at a club.
"Do you wanna dance with me?" I held out my hand, as if this were some formal occasion and she took it, the feeling of her touch sending warm shivers down my spine.
"Of course" she giggled, pulling me closer to the dance floor and to her own body.
Her hands moved up to wrap around my neck and my own dropped to her thin waist, I wasn't quite sure why my heart was pumping so fast, I felt like my chest would explode at any moment, but all thoughts of spontaneous combustion flew from my mind as she moved her hips against me.
After what had felt like sweet hours it had only been thirty five minutes of pure bliss. Allison's hands had pulled my face closer to hers and one of them was running along the back of my hair. I wanted to kiss her, in that moment kissing her was all that seemed to matter, It was only then did I realise that my right hand was supporting her lower back whilst my left had trailed down much further than I'd realised, and Allison had not seemed to mind at all.
"Allison!? Adams!? C'mon" Toby shouted over, looking rather angry with Lydia at his side, but then again he always looked kinda mad. Allison released her grip on my neck and I did the same to her waist, rather hesitantly because I was sure I didn't want to let go.
Once I got outside I took a deep breath of fresh night air and sighed.
"Toby said he was getting a headache" Lydia explained, wrapping her arms around her boyfriend's bicep. "But you two looked like you were having fun?"
"We were" Allison gave me a sideways look, for confirmation that she was correct. I nodded quickly.
"Yep"
"Well, I had fun, but let's get out of here it's getting cold" she exclaimed, walking briskly to Toby's car, pulling her boyfriend behind him. "We'll see you two at school?" She called back.
Allison didn't reply but nodded, as if Lydia could sense her reply. I looked at my watch, it already said 1:26, I didn't realise we were in there for that long.
"My dad is gonna kill me for staying out this late" Allison said, still smiling at me as we walked to the car and got in.
"I'm sure he'll be merciful" I replied with a grin as we pulled out of the parking lot and drove down the long streets.
"Maybe if I survive you can meet him..." She trailed off slightly towards the end of her sentence but kept looking at me.
"Yeah, but maybe not at two in the morning" I suggested, turning left towards her house.
"Sounds like a good idea" she said, leaning back in her seat.
"Here we are" I said, pulling into her driveway and turning off the ignition. We both climbed out of the car and made our way to her porch.
"We should... Hang out again sometime" I suggested. Who says hang out? God, I'm an idiot.
"Yeah, of course, if you want to"
"I want to..." I smiled.
She tilted her head slightly and took a small step towards me. The whole world seemed to slow down as my lips pressed against hers, it was only for a few seconds but I swear to god they were the best seconds of my life.
"I'll see you later?" She mumered against me, I gave her a happy nod and she let out a whispered giggle.
"Definitely"
