Aether POV

I awoke feeling better. I looked around and saw Xiao right next to me, asleep. "xiao." I said in a whisper to see if he was awake, but he didn't answer. He was asleep for real this time, he was facing me, head on the bed just within arms reach.

Kill him!! His guard is down! End it now!!!

I lifted my hand and rubbed Xiao's head, running my fingers in his hair. soft

His eyes slowly opened and he slowly lifted his head and yawned. "Hmm morning," I said, resting my arm on the bed.

"Morning," he said rubbing an eye.

"How'd you sleep? Sleeping like that looks uncomfortable." I asked a little worried.

"I slept well don't you worry about me, how was your rest?" He asked and I smiled, "I feel a lot better." I saw Xiao let out a light smile.

You are useless

I was trying to sit up and Xiao rushed to my aid, I laughed. "Thanks." He nodded and sat down next to me on the bed. I blushed as he started rubbing my back, "Baizhu said that rubbing your back would help with your sickness. He said that you were injected with poison right here," he pointed to my neck where that theft dressed in red stabbed. "but don't worry because he knew how to treat it. He and Qiqi went out to get the necessary herbs, they came back a few hours ago and gave it to you already." I smiled, that's good. I moved my head to rest on Xiao's shoulder, I wanted to be close to him.

Useless

My... My mother would always rub my back after every beating my father gave me. To calm me down and slow my heart rate while she sang. He hated me even before he found out about my secret. I miss mom dearly, but Xiao rubbing my back and just hearing his breathing? That's enough for me.

"Hmm" I let out, I'm feeling much better, I wonder if Xiao sings? He continues to rub my back.

"Hehe" I open my eyes to see Pimon staring at us, I'm not in the mood to snap a quick joke her way. I simply closed my eyes and let my head fall further into Xiao's shoulder.

Pimon POV

I gave a little giggle towards Aether resting on Xiao's shoulder as he rubbed Aethers back. It was cute, however, Aether just looked at me with a tired face and closed his eyes again falling deeper into Xiao. Xiao moved his head resting his chin on top of Aethers's head and let out a heavy sigh, he then moved his hand, which was rubbing Aethers back, into Aether's hair brushing it out with his fingers.

"Aether?" I said.

Xiao looked at me while I was fixated on Aether. "He's alright, Pimon," Xiao said. I flew closer to the two and rested on Aether's lap, moving the hand that was resting on his lap over my chest. "He'll be alright, right? Baizhus medicine will work right?" I looked up to Xiao who moved onto the bed to help support Aether's body. He nodded a 'yes'

"heh Aether has been resting for a while, a few days. Pimon is worried." Xiao patted my head with his free arm. "It's ok, we're here to take care of him right?"

I gave him a big smile, "Right!"

Xiao POV

Aether and Pimon fell asleep, right after they woke up. How? How I wished we could have stayed like that forever, but deep down I knew I had to remove myself from this picture. At least for right now.

Yoooo I started college today and I was terrified with all the ice breakers we had to do, I don't socialize got me shaking lmao T^T
