Another day Another Love Story {Xiao x Aether}

Aether POV

I awoke with bandages all over, how long was I out? It's night now. I brought my hands up to my head, still burning up. I looked around and saw Xiao resting his head on the bed, right next to me, asleep. "Hmph, so Adepti do sleep," I whispered while trying my best to sit up. Xiao turned his head to face me. He was in fact, awake, "ohh" I said as I could feel my face going red. He sat up looking away from me. "Heh guess not?" I shrugged giving a half-smile.

"How are you feeling?" He asked sitting up and placing the back of his hand on my head. I smiled, his hands were cold. "What are you smiling at?"

I let out a soft laugh, he pulled his hand away. "Your hands were cold and it felt nice." I laid back down coughing, "ah" there was a sharp pain in my side.

Xiao looked at me, I let out a sigh. "I'm alright, my head just hurts." Pimon was resting next to me, I held my hand out and rested it on her chest, thank you for everything Pimon. "I'm going to get you some towels," Xiao said.

I took a deep breath and then faced the other way, I let out a muffled sob. "Aether?" It was Xiao, he walked back towards me. And placed his hand on my head pushing my hair out of my face. More tears came from my eyes, I looked at him and then pushed my face under the bedsheets. "I remember everything that they, the treasure hoarders, did to me." I couldn't hold in the tears anymore but I didn't want to make a noise. I felt Xiao's hand on my chest, "Do you want to talk about it? I-I'm not good at understanding feelings but I know that what they did to you was... scary."
TAKE THAT

"N-no. please, just please stay with me." I peeked out from the covers. "Until I fall asleep again." I let out a cough, once more Xiao placed his hand on my head. I couldn't help but let out a soft laugh. I feel.... safe with him here. "Xiao..?"

"I'm here." I looked at him half-asleep, "thank you, for saving me."

I saw him take a deep breath, then he pushed more hair out of my face. "Y-yea. Now get some rest."

"Mm" I let out a little noise before I drifted back asleep, but before I did I moved my hand over to Xiao's free hand and held it. Thanks, Xiao. I drifted off to sleep.

Xiao POV

Aether held my hand tight until his grip loosened, he was asleep. I didn't want to leave his side, what is this feeling called? Am I allowed to feel like this? I feel free from all the pain I've endured when I'm by your side...
