3rd POV

"And that's it! Are you ready?" Nahida said.

Xiao and Piamon nodded, they were going to travel in the past.

Albedo fired up the machine, and Xiao walked through it first then Paimon.

Xiao POV

"It's so bright!!!" I could hear Paimon screaming. I closed my eyes tightly and then felt the ground under my feet.

"WOW WHAT A FALL! Did- did we make it?" Paimon asked.

I opened my eyes, we were in the middle of... wait where are we? we aren't where Albedo said we would land.

"I think?" I said looking around, "Pull out that device Chongyun gave us!" Paimon yelled.

I reached for my pocket and pulled it out. I didn't quite understand it, Chongyun said it had the power of Aether's other selves, Ying and Yang.

"Yang did we make it?" Paimon asked.

"Yes... 16 years into the past." his soft voice spoke.

"I-it talked..."

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this.

"Right!" Paimon said happily, "Let's find Aether!!" She started flying away, I tucked the device back into my pocket and followed her.

A few hours passed and we haven't found anyone. "Paimon have you ever been here before?"

"Naha"

All around us were just trees, I looked up and felt the sun shining through the leaves on my face, I inhale - look back down, and exhale.

When I opened my eyes I swear I saw something gold fly by, then the ground shook.

"EARTHQUAKE" Paimon yelled in my ear. I grabbed her and then teleported into a tree, "It's not an earthquake, too weak." I said looking around, and that's when I saw it.

A young Blonde boy with a white scarf, fighting a Ruin guard.

I grabbed Paimon and jumped from branch to branch, "be quiet," I whispered.

The boy was in an open field, while Paimon and I stayed out of sight.

"It is him..." I said bringing my hand to my mouth.

"Aether..."

He.. he looks so young. I missed you.....

3rd POV

Paimon looked up to face Xiao and saw him crying, she was too. Paimon flew up to Xiao's face, "we found him... now let's protect him."

3rd POV still

Aether was fighting the Ruin guard he found laying at the entrance of a cave, he heard from a good source that that is where his sister is currently hiding.

Xiao and Paimon from the future watch from afar, still hiding in the trees.

"GAH!" Aether yelled while finishing the Ruin guard off. "So annoying!" He yelled again, Aether was in no mood to be toyed with. "Lets g Paimon." he said as he entered the cave.

Meanwhile, Paimon was still with Xiao, "Piamon doesn't think you should follow, there wouldn't be many places for you to hide." Xiao nodded.

"We know that Albedo's device worked, but we aren't where we were expecting to land. Once I see you both exit I'll start heading to DragonSpine. I think the best way to handle this is to take on Aethers father myself," Xiao said and jumped off the tree.

"Hmm and you're much stronger now, Paimon sees you training on the ground where the two of you used to spar."

Xiao smiled at her, as she teleported away and reappeared next to Aether.

"there you ar--" Xiao could hear Aether speak as Paimon came into Aether's sight.

We found Aether.
