Our First Kiss

Aether POV

I looked up my hands holding onto his chest while he held my waist. My face bloody read, I could feel it burning up, then I smiled and laughed and hugged Xiao tight. He removed one of his arms holding me and grabbed my chin forcing me to look at him. I stared into his golden eyes, simply lost in his beauty. Then I found myself staring at his lips, my lips parted,

His chin started to tilt towards me. His lips parted. "I want to know what it feels like, I've never kissed someone before.." he whispered. My god. He wants to kiss me, but it was the wrong time, and so was how badly I want him to...I kissed him, showing how a kiss was meant to be, though I hardly knew either. He learned fast. He may have never kissed before, but I can tell by his heart thumping next to me that Xiao enjoyed it, that he responded to it the same way mortals did.

He kissed me gently at first and then, as if he was reaching for something more, he pushes me against the wall and kisses me harder. His lips are warm and soft. I try to focus on him.

His mouth, coupled with the way his hand is sliding down my arm, is all too much. So much. Good much. To good.

I just whimpered. As soon as the sound leaves my mouth, he's pressing me harder against the wall. His left hand is caressing my cheek and his right hand is gripping me by the waist, pulling me against him.

I move my lips against his, wanting more, but more of what, I do not know. He steps closer, until our bodies touch, melting into each other, then his other hand comes up, the warm fingers grasping my waist, pulling me even closer still. I am lost in his kiss, and all my defenses give way before this hungry mystery that lies between us. And then he pulls away, slowly, as if loath to do so. That is when I hear the knock at the door.

I gasped catching my breath, my heart pounding, I was so happy I covered my smile. Xiao was looking at the door to see if it'll open, "Aether?"

It was Verr "Yes?" I responded sounding a little too happy. Xiao looked at me smiling, a big bright smile that made me fall in love with him more, I melted back into him, hugging him. I could hear his heart beating fast, same as mine, he hugged me back and kissed my forehead.

"Everyone is in the kitchen we're ready for you, that is if you're ready."

"Yes, that's fine just give me a minute." I smiled looking at Xiao again.

"Alright, we'll be in the kitchen." I heard Verr walking away. Then I laughed backing away from Xiao covering my smile.

"You are really enjoying this, huh?" Xiao said with happiness in his voice. I turned to look at him, "That was my first kiss." I said jumping. Xiao smiled and walked over to me and pulled me in, "How about a second?" he smirked.

Suddenly, he yanks me against him and bends his head to kiss me. I melt into him as his fingers tangle in my messy hair. My mouth opens to his, and our tongues meet for the briefest instance before he pulls away.

"We should get going." He said moving away while holding my hand. I felt cheated; a loud bang of thunder shocked me to my core.

"Xiao?"

"Hmm?" He looked at me, while I moved up to his ear and whispered, "I-I love you too." He blushed then smirked kissing me again. How I love this.

When we got downstairs the lights were out, I held Xiao's hand.

"SURPRISE!!" Everyone jumped out and I hid behind Xiao, I hate surprises. The lights came on and everyone started walking over to me. Xiao let go of my hand to give me a chance to talk to everyone while he went over to Ganyu.

Ningguang walked up to me after I greeted everyone else, "Happy birthday Traveler. I'm sorry to say that we have more to talk about with the figureheads of each nation. Shenhe has brought something important to my attention and it involves you."

"The war," I said as soon as she finished her sentence, and she nodded.

"Yes, do you care to share information with us as well? The Acting Grandmaster Jean, the Raiden Shogun, Sangonomiya Kokomi, her general, Adeptus Xiao, we the Qixing, and a few others are heading into another room while everyone else enjoys the food. Come to me when you're done talking to everyone.

Xiao POV

"He doesn't like surprises you know?" I said to Ganyu while looking at Aether.

"Hehe, sorry, a nice lady... Yoimiya is it? She and the little spark knight, this was all their idea for the Traveler. We couldn't say no once Qiqi got in on it," she laughed.

"sooo... Have you told Aether?" She said while drinking from a cup. I looked at her for a second thinking then at the same time we both said, "Cloud Retainer."

She laughed while I kept quiet, I smiled when I thought about Aether's reaction when I did tell him. I heard her gasp, "You did!" She said smiling. "I'm proud of you."

"Yea," was all I could say. I don't feel comfortable talking about this if Aether gets too close to me... Will he get hurt? No, I have to stop thinking like that. Aether has survived that crazy sickness caused by his past self... well his father.

I was lost in thought when I felt a tiny hand touch my leg, I looked down and saw Qiqi.

A flash of lightning hit the deck outside, I didn't sense any fire guess the rain was too heavy.

Qiqi was pointing to the traveler, then she looked at me, "you love-" ok that's it. I covered Qiqis's mouth, "Yes, I do. Please keep it to yourself." I sighed, Qiqi removed my hand from her mouth, she was smiling. "Qiqi, is.... Happy. For you..." I stood up and pat her head as she rested on a chair next to me and fell asleep.

Another little kid with a leaf on her head came over, sat on the floor next to Qiqi, and fell asleep too. What am I the babysitter?

"Adeptus Xiao, may I speak with you?" I looked up and Ningguang was standing in front of me. "I'm sure you know about the presented war?"

I nodded Aether mentioned it and it scared him.

"Come with me please, we must go over this." I followed Ningguang into Verrs office, there were the heads of each nation that Aether has been to, along with the Shogun. "Ahh Adeptus Xiao how are you doing?" She asked after I bowed, I nodded, "Well." I answered walking over to stand in the corner.
