--Fortune's POV--
Meeting Allie's parents was a little less awkward and easier. I even managed to make it through dinner with her two other sisters and their husbands. Seems like she's the only one not married in their family. Which her mother never stops reminding her about.
Actually it was pretty awkward now that I think of it. Her mother knew me for less than ten minutes before she asked when I was going to marry her daughter. I think she thinks that we've been together for a while. I pretty much choked on air when she asked.
"You don't mind sharing a bed with me? Do you?" I ask Allie as we lay in a hotel bed together.
She shakes her head. I don't mind. Just nervous. Just really nervous. Not that I plan on making any moves on her. I'd like to, but too soon...I think. I don't know. I feel like I don't know anything anymore.
Allie creeps closer to me and rests her head on my chest. I sneak my arm around her and just hold her close. I can feel my heart racing.
"Fortune?" Allie asks.
"Allie?" I ask and then roll my eyes at myself.
"You sound like you just ran a mile. Are you okay?" Allie asks as she sits up and stares at me worriedly.
I sigh, louder than I intended to. "No...yes...I'm just nervous."
She backs up a bit and continues to stare at me.
I sit up. "No! I don't...no...that's...yes that's what I meant. I...I'm..."
She cuts my rambling off with her lips. I instantly kiss her back. Next thing I know the little clothes we had on are being tossed off of the bed. I guess this is happening.
