A rough day

Marriage with Dazai never had a dull moment. He brought joy to the house with his antics, but there were times when this clownery would be replaced with his bitter view on life and his fears. During these moments you were by his side providing comfort. You often ask him what was wrong, but sometimes you understood that he just didn't want to talk about anything, so you held him close, pushing back his bangs and kissing his forehead. During these times you told him how much you adored him and how human he was to you. Tonight was the night when the world simply gave up on you both. You were coming home from a rough day at work. You felt like such a screw-up because of what you did today. You felt so out of place during work or anything social really it made you feel so alone. So much like an outcast that you almost understood when Dazai said he didn't feel human because in honesty neither did you. You've tried to interact with people, but sometimes it felt like too much, or sometimes you felt like everything you said was just simply annoying to them. You took off your jacket and threw it on the coat hanger with your keys in the pocket. You didn't bother locking the door since you memorized Dazai's schedule, and in about a few minutes he would be coming home. You kicked off your shoes and stepped into your shared bedroom. You flopped down on the futon bed that you and Dazai shared, landing on his side of the bed. Dazai's natural smell lingered on his side of the bed, which was your little comfort space when he wasn't here. It brought you a sense of peace that even if your day was rough at least he was here to hold you at the end of the day.

After a few minutes of laying on Dazai's side of the bed, you got up and started to change out of your work clothes and into more comfortable clothing. As you finished putting on your cozy clothes the sound of your front door opening, made you poke your head out of the bedroom to be greeted by a very tired-looking Dazai. His clothes were dripping wet, he was shivering, and his hair was wet and dripping water droplets all over the floor. You hurriedly rushed into the bathroom grabbing your fluffy towel and handing it to him.

"Oh, Osama," You sighed. Grabbing your keys from your coat pocket you locked the door. You turned to face him, looking into his eyes. His eyes looked as if they were seeing far off into the distance, and his whole body language screamed fatigue.

Dazai dried his hair and draped the towel around his neck before grabbing your wrist and pulling you into his cold embrace.

"It's good to be home with you," He whispered into your hair, nuzzling into your.

"It good to have you home."

You embraced him back, holding him tightly.

"Rough day?"

"Mmm, how about you?" he mumbled out.

"Not any better than yours. How about you go get changed? We can just lay in bed till we both feel better."

Dazai nodded, pulling you along with him into the bedroom. He changed out of his wet clothing, leaving them on the floor. He put on a comfortable pair of sweatpants before turning around to meet your eyes.

"Can you help me change my bandages?"

You nodded, walking towards the closet and pulling out a couple of rolls of bandages. The process was long, but it made you feel closer to Dazai. From time to time you would place a kiss on his scars, especially the one in the middle of his chest.

"There we go, all done."

"Thank you, dear."

Dazai took off the towel around his neck and flung it somewhere in the room for the both of you to find tomorrow. He dragged you to bed, pulling you close to him and pulling the blankets over the both of you.

You smiled, cuddling closer to Dazai. Simply playing in bed with Dazai and kissing his chest while he kisses your hair.

"I love you so much," you whispered against his skin as you placed a kiss on his heart.

"If I could marry you again, I would," he murmured. Holding you tightly as if you would disappear.
