Ending

"Everything eventually comes to an end." This phrase echoed through your mind as you looked at Dazai. Dark brown eyes scanned the pages of a book he brought home, a pen in the other hand, and a cold dinner that was long forgotten.

"What are you working on, dear?"Dazai flinched, looking up at you.

"I'm working on a.." Dazai drifted off. He looked at you, a warm smile stretching across his face.

You raised your eyebrow in question. You were worried for him. When Dazai was quiet, his mind was most likely running a rampage.

"How lucky I am to have you. It's such a pity; things have to be this way." He whispered.

"In what way, Osamu?" You walked closer to him, lifting your hand to cup his cheek.

"Do you know about The Book, love?"

"The Book?"

"Yes. Don't you know? We're just ink on paper. Reality bends into fiction for us, don't you get it?" Dazai explained rapidly, almost like he was losing his mind.

"You mean the book that everyone's been after?"

Dazai nodded, leaning into your warm touch.

"Then what are you writing, Dazai?"

"A universe where Oda can live and perhaps a universe where we can live our dream life. The life you dream of, a life where I wouldn't have to make you suffer along with me. A life where I'm a perfect husband for you." He dropped his pen, pulling you into his lap.

Dazai caresses your cheek, pulling you into a sweet kiss as he tightens his hold on you.

"Oh, Dazai. You were alright, perfect. I accept all of your flaws without disgust. I'll love you no matter what."

Dazai smiled softly at you, his tired eyes lighting up with life.

He blushed before leaning down to connect his lips with yours in a soft kiss. The kiss was simple and sweet unlike most of Dazai's other kisses.

"I hope that I'll always be with you." He whispered as he pulled away from the kiss.

The Book flipped the pages on its own. Soon another chapter started causing the closing of the curtains on you and Dazai. This was the end; nothing to add to it. It was as simple as that.

Writing for Dazai will always be fun for me, and maybe I'll pick back up this book in the near future, but I'm most likely going to revise all of the one-shots and start a different book for another fandom. <3 Thank you all for reading this book!!
